"Don't believe the good reviews. The hotel is in need of new management. My room was a 2-queen-bed room. The floor of the bathroom was dirty. I could feel it when I walked on it in my bare feet. The bath towel for preventing water on the floor was dirty. I could literally see the dirty footprints of the previous user. The wall had repairs on every wall and was just repaired with joint compound and not painted. The curtains were falling down, and from the outside of the building, when you looked closer, you could see that all the rooms had the curtains falling and deteriorating. The bathtub had somebody else's hair in the drain. Do not stay here. This owner should sell and allow someone else to come in and refurbish the place. Although it may already be too far gone. My companion had a room with a king-size bed, and their room was just as bad, with patches on the walls. No shampoo. Curtains falling down."

"First the positives: The cottage is on a beautiful lake and is surrounded by trees. It was quiet and peaceful. The cottage was clean, except for some ants that decided to visit us and these ants bit me.Now the negatives: Communication with the host was terrible. Sometimes my messages were answered and sometimes they were simply ignored and never answered.I was sick on the first day and we weren't able to make it. I asked via the message app if we could stay a day at the end of our visit, stating if it wasn't possible then just let me know. A simple "no it isn't possible" would have been fine, but all I got was crickets. One of the main reasons I chose this place was they have a motor boat and I was really looking forward to boating on the lake. Except the boat had six to eight inches of water in it. I know there's been a lot of rain, but I wish the host had said the boat couldn't be used before I booked. Part of the dock also was underwater. So one of the main reasons for choosing this site was not available.There was only one log in the house for the fireplace. The other logs were wet and made it hard to start and keep a fire going.We had hoped for a cozy fire at night.Back to communication: All the host had to do is tell me the issues before I booked, but I feel like these issues were hidden and I would not have booked had I known about them.We would not stay here again."
