Pillows and bed uncomfortable, floor in hallway was uneven and carpet stained, floor in room had parts of flooring under carpet at different levels, plug in by window AC shut off with switch, was not labelled and my plug in cooler shut off, no elevator, no room to park truck and utility trailer. Staff was excellent and morning staff helped carry luggage and cooler down. Older hotel so always have some issues

We booked Sandman for the pool, it was advertised as having a pool. I got my kid excited to swim in the pool and then when we went down to go it, it was closed. You should advise that some amenities are unavailable at the time of booking.

We booked at the Sandman in Cranbrook in order to have a swim after a long days driving. We were advised, after saying we were looking forward to a relaxing swim, that the pool was closed. We were not advised of this before we arrived. A couple of hours later, after a rest, I had to go to the front desk to find out how to work the tv remote. While there I said I was not happy about the pool situation and asked if we could have a reduction in our room rate. The very nice lady said as we had booked through Expedia, she could not refund, but would give us a voucher for $40 for the Denny’s restaurant adjoining the hotel. A word on the restaurant, filthy. Honestly, so dirty.

Horrible set up for bathroom. Door oppened inward making it difficult to use toilet. Nousy dog next door yipping all evening and again in morning. Our room faced railway track, train noises all through the night. Upon arrival, was told pool not operational, this was NOT noted on their website. Too expensive for the poor quality of the rooms.

Worst sandman I’ve stayed in, bottom 10 hotels.

Our room had a decent sized stain on the ceiling from the bathroom above leaking down. Our bathroom looked to have mold. Cigarette smoke smell bothered my kids and wife from trying to sleep, couldn’t leave the window open as it was large enough for the homeless to climb through. It was most evident from the bathroom, seemed to be coming in through the fan that was unable to turn off.

For $200 a night this is totally unacceptable. Room smells so bad we need to leave windows open and fan on. If I hadn’t already pre-paid, I would have walked away. This property is poorly kept up. We will never stay at another Sandman in a small town without thoroughly reading the reviews.

There was blood on the sheets on the sofa bed. Also blood stains on some of the towels. The toilet kept running. Otherwise the room was clean. The pool is out of order. The second floor is dipped in so bad the doors do not want to close. There is approximately a 3 inch gap at the base of the door on 1 side. This hotel needs some serious work and upgrades.

The interior from lobby up the stairs to the second floor is like the second half of Titanic (sloped sideways). It looks like some structural remediation is needed. In addition to that, we booked this hotel expecting to use the pool but the pool was out of order when we got there and no reimbursement was offered.

We travel with a sound Machine so it helped sleep at night it’s an older hotel beds are decent not amazing nor terrible. A little on firmer side.
