We arrived early and were able to check in a little early. Parking was great and a lot of places were walking distance. We had a nice stay, we would stay again and recommend it.

Parking was easy and location easy to find. I was given the codes to get into the hotel since no one works there on Mondays. The exterior door lock was broken and was just open. Then when I found my room, it had not been cleaned. Old towels in the bathroom & hanging on the back of the door, trash still there from the last guest. I had to search the other rooms for unused towels, shampoo and soap. Unsure if the sheets were changed so slept on the couch for my 3 day stay.

everything in room wasn't clean, no toilet paper at all, dirty towels, unclean bedding, atmosphere was loss of pictures on walls, dirty coffee cups , coffee machine filthy, used coffee kurig, dirty clothing from another person that was in room in the past, freezing in room and no extra covers manager never called me back in regards to this matter and also was extreamly short staffed. other customers also felt the same way. I left sunday and called to let them know extreamly unsatisfactory. horrible stay. never anyone called me back called them back again today Tuesday Oct. 28

Reading the other reviews on this property, one may shy away from it. Those reviews could not be further from truth, then what we experienced at the Publick House. This hotel is quaint and has old world charm. Our room was oversized with a separate sitting area with a pullout sofa. All the rooms including the bathroom were clean and well appointed. The staff is quite friendly and very accommodating. Very nice terrace/balcony for guests to sit outside. Although there is no breakfast service, there are Keurig’s in every room that are replenished each day. The staff will also direct you to The French pastry shop or Sally Lund’s, which are both within walking distance. We did not have a chance to eat at PH restaurant, but the menu looked diverse and interesting. Still can’t understand all the bad reviews.

It was a suite with style. I would suggest upgrading your towels and providing some more hand and wash clothes. The mattresses were a bit lumpy. Still, it was an interesting place to stay.

This historic building from the early 1800's is loaded with charm. They have history all over the walls. The layout is quaint, with various sitting areas throughout. The room was beautiful and clean. There was a living room and separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. They provided a coffeemaker and a small fridge. It was easy to walk to the shops. There is a steakhouse attached. Overall, staying here was a pleasant experience.

This is an awesome hotel!! The room was absolutely wonderful...huge, beautiful, very comfy, a huge sitting room I did not expect. 2 TV's! I never heard a sound in that room. Wonderful windows with light coming in. I totally recommend this place. Staff is great, restaurant and bar downstairs was great, with good food, friendly bartenders. Best hotel room I have stayed in. Only suggestion would e to get better towels but what I had was sufficient.

The Publick House is fine for a one-night stay however would not recommend it if staying long. The room, while clean, has a very old feel and the furniture accents that making the room dark and a little depressing.
