My 2 year old son had a good time

The check-in process can be slow, so be prepared to wait if there is a line. However, I was able to upgrade my room on the spot and the room was ready for us at 1:00 pm so I did not have to change in the restrooms on the main floor or in the water park. I only saw 2 single person bathrooms inside the water park and they were not well kept. Don't let your kids wait until they "really have to go to the bathroom" because I was in line for 15 minutes at least. No chairs or tables available unless you claim your spot right when the water park open in the morning. On the first day, I had to pay $20 for a locker, but I got $10 back on the condition that I returned the key before a certain time. The water temp was warm the first day and uncomfortably cold the second and third day when the outside temp was colder. My mother and I kept taking turns going inside the hot tub and alternating supervising my son because we were freezing. The line inside the water park to order food was long and slow. Bring your own towels. Having a Dunkin Donuts inside was a major plus! Housekeeping did not turn down the rooms by 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm. Our room was never really cleaned (fresh towels, beds made, trash emptied) during our entire stay over several days. The rooms are not cheap and it was frustrating to be at the water park from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm only to find your bed unmade, wet towels everywhere, and trash cans overflowing. My son had a great time at the bubble dance party and at the arcade.

Great

Staff was expecially friendly and curteous. When we ate at the buffet the staff actually prepared fries and pizza for my kids because it wasn't on the buffet. Everyone wentry above and beyond to assure that the kids had a good time

Family gathering at Christmas

Took my children, grandchildren and mom for Christmas. We all had a wonderful time. They all wanted to know when we were all going back.

Great hotel

We have stayed at this Great Wolf Lodge in williamsburg VA several times.  The people are great, and the experience inside the water park and in the hotel is awesome.  Its real impressive in December for Christmas. We really like it more in the winter because its fun to be in a water park when its cold outside.  Its also a lot of fun in the summer when its real hot outside.  When you stay at the lodge, you get access to the water park for two days for each night you stay.

Not recommended

Cons: Nothing close, Noisy, Poor breakfast, a majority of disrespectful guests
The hotel was noisy. People were running and shouting in the hallways all night, slamming doors and just being loud and disrespectful. The air conditioning in the room could not be regulated and was loud. The waterpark changing room was dirty and totally understaffed. The cafeteria did not offer much choice. The food was greasy, poor quality and severely overpriced. I don't think we will go back.

We really enjoyed the Great Wolf Lodge.

Pros: Close restaurants
I was very surprised it was very clean and there was not a huge clorine smell like in other water parks or pools. I was glad we had received the special travelocity price because the normal prices were very high. The kids loved it!!

Great fun for the winter!

We had a great time at Great Wolf. The water park was clean and there were lots of activities. I felt there were plenty of lifeguards. I would recommend bringing snacks to have in your room. The food/drink was very pricey! I would definitly go again, however, I would go during non-peak days. We were there on a Saturday night and it was packed.

Overpriced and Cold!

I thought it would be a great way to get out of the winter funk and spend some time at a water park, but I froze the whole time! It was warm in the middle of the water park, but near the exit on one side and the raft return on the other, I was uncomfortably cold. The water park had very dim lighting and the main slide that I wanted to go on was down. Poor building design, as there is no buffer between the lodge and the exterior exits so it is even colder when you leave the park area. We wanted to do other things around the lodge, but EVERYTHING closes at 9 pm. We had to order out for food and the kids couldn't even do the magic game, (which was ridiculously priced along with everything else). The lodge looks and feels it's age, but the rooms were nice with a sink next to the microwave and refrigerator and the heater worked well. It was a fun outing. We made the best of it and stayed at a local hotel the next night to save the money we would have given away at Great Wolf. One time experience; I won't be back.
