We really enjoyed the area near the pool deck. The ambiance was lovely, it was relaxing. Availability of staff was minimal. At check in we were given keys to an incorrect room. The porter unloaded our luggage outside the incorrect room and then left instead of leaving them on the cart and taking to next room. We then had to return to check in for a 2nd time, wait in line as there was only one person, return to incorrect room and wait for someone to reload luggage. Additionally, we were told valet parking would send us a text so we could request our car. They never did. When we brought this to their attention and it was supposedly fixed, it wasn't. Door to balcony would not open without multiple efforts (even by the porter) and area had obviously not been cleaned on balcony Having said that, the staff was pleasant, simply inept or understaffed. Overall, the hotel was lovely , rooms were comfy and clean, and it was extremely convenient. We would probably stay there again. BTW we heard other customers complaining and disgruntled as well....

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Mills House during our recent stay In Charleston. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. The location is perfect… just steps away from shopping and too many restaurants to count. Highly recommended!!

We did not enjoy our stay. The bathroom door did not close, the AC didn’t work, there is no access to a microwave (I have an infant), no in room dining, the pool was dirty, they stopped serving food and drink at the terrace bar well before close. For the amount of money spent this hotel is not worth it.
