Hotel Shamrock Bendigo
"Overall we enjoyed our 2 night stay in the standard room with one queen and one single on the second floor not far from the lift and stairs, although we both found the beds somewhat too firm. Would be nice if they had the option of a mattress topper to make it a more comfortable sleeping experience. Otherwise the room was roomy, clean, and the on-suite was reasonable. We had a group booking downstairs for dinner in the bistro on the Friday night, but this was quite disappointing, and all agreed the food was below par. On Saturday a group of obvious beer festival attendees came into the bistro while we were chatting over coffee, and were so loud and brash that we had to leave. The staff did not ask them to leave and move to their adjacent sports bar when we complained, which was also disappointing. So we can recommend the accomodation, but would not eat there or use their downstairs bistro again."
