We were in town with a teenage family member in the ICU at the UNC Children's Hospital. This home was the perfect answer to allow for rest, family meetings, meals, and everything we needed to make it through a difficult situation. The owner was very responsive and understanding of our needs. It is a mile off the beaten path, but this turned out be a blessing with the quiet neighborhood in a cul-de-sac. It was also very convenient to the hospital, shopping, and the basic needs of our group. Highland Comfort has a great layout that gives everyone some privacy when they need it, plus plenty of spaces to gather. It was clean and comfortable with all the modern conveniences. We hope to return under better circumstances.

The house was just perfect for my family. We had a family wedding and this house was just perfect to get away for it all the craziness and just relax. The dog in the yard behind us was barking a lot but after a while the dog got use to us and stopped barking.

The property was generally nice and as described.Our only issues is that there were ants in the kitchen when we arrived, some of the provided snacks were over a year expired, and that the owners had people over in the backyard working on the shed during our stay (and windows without blinds in the bathroom/shower the workers could see into).But the experience was otherwise pleasant and suited our needs.

Family Visit to Chapel Hill

We stayed 2 nights and had a great time visiting family in the Southern Village area. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood with a large yard and huge trees. It was a perfect place to stay with 5 adults and 2 young children since there are 4 bedrooms. The house was well maintained and clean and there were some toys for the young kids to play with. It was incredibly hot and humid in NC, but the AC was able to keep the house cool which was a huge plus. We would definitely stay here again. As a side note, Anna was also gracious enough to mail us some electronics that we accidentally left at the house.

Graduation weekend stay

Host was very responsive throughout the booking process and to the couple of questions we had upon checkin. Quiet location which was perfect for us and our dog, and only 20 minutes to graduation events at UNC Chapel Hill.

Wedding trip

We were in CH son’s wedding at a nearby venue. Perfect location from the venue. Quiet, wooded neighborhood you can walk in if want. The house had plenty of room to have family in and still able to have some privacy. The home was clean and beds comfortable, well equipped for our needs. We had adult children only, but would be great for families with young kids too. Highly recommend unless someone has trouble negotiating stairs as all bedrooms are on second floor and stairs are rather steep. We enjoyed our time here!

Wonderful Stay

Thank you for sharing your home with us Anna. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The house is situated in a beautiful wooded and quiet area. There are plenty of bedrooms for adults so everyone could have a comfortable night sleep. Everything was clean and welcoming. When we arrived. A Carolina Blue Christmas Stay

I had four adult children and their 1 come to town from all across the US to be together for a magical graduation AND Christmas get together.. this would not have as comfortable or easy without Ana’s beautiful spacious house! The accommodations were plenty for all 6 of us and Ana was very responsive to my requests prior to our stay. We loved ved the added holiday touches. And the Carolina Blue door! Lovely family home

Our family with 2 young kinds stayed here for 3 weeks while waiting for our new house to be ready for move-in and it was a lovely stay! It's a very nice, friendly neighborhood and the house is on a quiet cul-de-sac. We were here over Halloween and our kids even got to meet other kids trick-or-treating. The house had everything we needed, even toys, an outdoor play area and sandbox, kids utensils and a booster seat. The hosts were very friendly and responsive, and even came by quickly we needed their help with something. Would definitely recommend!

Great home in Chapel Hill

The house is located in a nice quiet neighborhood with a large yard. It was clean and had all the extras you’ll need for your stay. The host was very responsive during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place.

Home away from Home

Anna was very responsive during the course of our reservation as well as stay. The house was well stocked with whatever you'd need such as coffee, coffee filters, sugar and even some refrigerated condiments just to name some. The beds were comfortable with soft sheets. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Absolutely wonderful!

I would love to come back to this house: lovely part of town; amazing fenced in garden for the pups; the best equipped kitchen of any property I have stayed in before. Anna was quick, kind and helpful. The beds were supercomfortable. In the midst of high summer heat, it was a joy to come back to a house in the woods with great inddor conditions. The price was really good for the location and quality of the stay. Thank you Anna and Frank! We loved it. One of the best experiences for me in somebody else's home :)

Details made the trip!

Cannot thank this host enough for the many details in this house that so many hosts overlook, but travelers like us appreciate. Loved having a separate dining room that we did puzzles at (we brought our own, host had games and all kinds of great books available). Other great amenities like toiletries in each bathroom. Plenty of extra supplies like toilet paper, kleenex, laundry detergent/dryer sheets. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, including little things like coffee/filters, condiments, salt/pepper, a completely stocked drawer full of foil/plastic wrap/ziploc bags. Plenty of garbage bags. Every appliance you'd ever need. A full bin of ice in the freezer upon our check in! Plenty of extra towels, sheets, blankets!! Beds soooo comfy. Extra folding chairs in the storage closet off the kitchen. So many times we've stayed places where just a few extras like this help a lot....this house had them all. We thought the stairs to get to the 2nd floor were a little on the steep side. Just something to be aware of if you have a hard time getting around. Also, going down the stairs, the hand rail is on the lefthand side for part of the descent, so this is a little weird for us right handed people. I would have liked to see the windows in the house a little cleaner, but given the location, this might be hard to keep up. House is on a huge lot in an extremely wooded area. It truly is a hidden gem. Groceries and Wal Mart very close too!

Quiet location but minutes from everything

Very roomy home on a large wooded lot, in a quiet neighborhood. Just a short drive off the main highway, and only a few minutes to shopping and restaurants, and about 15 minutes to Chapel Hill downtown. We stayed here to visit friends in the area, and the location was perfect for us. It's an older home but well maintained. Large bedrooms, comfy beds, and plenty of space. The kitchen had lots of pots and pans and cooking utensils - everything that we needed and all of the appliances were in good working order. The check-in and check-out procedures were fast and Anna was easy to communicate with. We would stay here again!
