Hotel Port Aux Basques
"We stayed in this hotel for two non-consecutive nights when we took the ferry to see Gros Morne National Park. This hotel is in a great location only minutes from the ferry terminal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Our room had two double beds, a small desk/dresser, fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and a nightstand with an alarm clock (which is, surprisingly, missing now in many hotels). The bathroom was clean with a tub/shower combo. Floors were either laminate or vinyl plank... which I prefer to carpet. The room was not particularly soundproof, but very clean and decorated with higher-end furnishings. There was a nice restaurant onsite but breakfast was not included. There is an odd elevator that appears to have been added after the initial construction. You need to continuously hold the up button until it reaches the second floor where it then stops automatically and the door opens. Works fine once you use it and certainly beats carrying your luggage up the stairs. We enjoyed our stay on both nights and would definitely recommend this hotel, particularly if you plan on a ferry crossing."
