Gîte Vignes et Mines: Authentic Miners’ House in the Loire Valley

Discover Gîte Vignes et Mines, an authentic former miners’ house turned charming holiday home, located in Chalonnes-sur-Loire in the heart of the Corniche Angevine, between the Loire and Layon rivers, in a UNESCO World Heritage-listed environment.



Built in the early 20th century to house coal miners, this traditional home was lived in by several local families before beginning a new chapter. Passionate about Anjou’s heritage, we have carefully renovated it, preserving its original character and adding vintage furniture and unique finds.



With 4 bedrooms, the gîte accommodates up to 8 guests—perfect for family getaways, trips with friends, or colleagues, close to Angers, Cholet, and Nantes. Enjoy outdoor meals with the plancha grill.



We offer a table d’hôtes by reservation, giving you the chance to discover local cuisine featuring regional produce and Anjou wines in a warm, authentic atmosphere.



From June 1st, you’ll have access, at set times, to the swimming pool located just opposite the gîte, in a garden with open views over the Layon valley.

Het huis was perfect. De tuin was niet onderhouden.

Pros: Het was een mooi huis, voorzien van alle faciliteiten en het was goed onderhouden. Cons: De tuin was een woestenij en niet onderhouden wat ik een minpunt vond maar dit kan aan de aanhoudende droogte gelegen hebben.
