Hotel Corte Regina
"The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially when it came to helping us plan travel and recommending places to visit and eat. Their local knowledge made a big difference and really added to the experience. The hotel’s location is genuinely amazing. Once the daytime tourists and ferries leave Sirmione in the evening, the town becomes peaceful and magical, and it almost feels like you have the whole place to yourself. Being able to walk around the old town at night was one of the highlights of our trip. That said, the hotel itself is quite dated and could do with some modernisation. The shower in our room was extremely small and not particularly comfortable to use. One thing worth noting is that the photos showing a “pool” are actually of the thermal spa in Sirmione, not a swimming pool belonging to the hotel itself, which felt a little misleading. If you are visiting during summer, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere with an actual pool if you plan to stay more than a couple of nights. While it is lovely to swim in the lake, access is quite difficult in places because of the rocks, so it’s not the easiest option if you simply want somewhere relaxing to cool off during the heat of the day. Overall, we still had a lovely stay thanks to the location and excellent staff."
