A great escape

Pros: Ambience was wonderful and the staff were amazing. Free bikes to explore the city were fabulous.
Cons: The lounge and rug in the room were a little tired but everything was spotlessly clean.
Location: Great location, walk along the wall of the old town, close to markets, museums and the restaurant in the hotel was fabulous.
Perfect location in a most beautiful Casa, large rooms and beautiful surrounds - fountains, pools and a beautiful view from every aspect. With only 11 rooms the hotel offers privacy and a sense that you are in your own grand villa. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The hotel is located in a great part of the old town and has a fabulous restaurant. We felt pampered and enjoyed the stay very much.

Not a bad place but for the money there are bette

Stayed in a luxury/deluxe room. The furniture, though colonial, is a bit run down. Mattress is quite hard. Air conditioning worked well, a necessity given the heat and humidity. The bathroom was spacious. Food (for breakfast) was solid, but not anything fantastic. The television did not work at all during the four day stay. No mention was made of it until the end. Also, beware of hotel charges being charged in USD rather than in pesos. According to the credit card receipt I opted for this choice, but it was not the case. That "option" will cost you another 3.5% if your credit card doesn't charge for foreign transactions. While not entirely unhappy with my stay, I saw nicer options while in Cartagena.
