When we checked in our person, Mario was amazing. After that, the staff went downhill… Friendly but not very helpful or knowledgeable. The coffee/tea bar was a mess, the rooms were dirty, and there was barely any hot water in the shower.

This property puts the Plus in Plus. It is truly resort like. The front desk is very amenable and personable; five star service from Mario. Mario better get a raise or he will be poached by Miramar or San Ysidro Ranch. He is impeccable and professional. The rooms are stellar. Premium bedding, fridge and TV w YouTube capabilities, and great lush gardens. Ask for a courtyard room to enjoy the romance. Bravo, Best Western. This is one of your best properties. Close to all the fun on Linden Ave. and easy to access freeway yet you feel removed and rested. My new favorite hotel in SB county. Just a delight. Off to enjoy the rest of my coffee on my courtyard balcony! -JR

I honestly don’t understand how this hotel has so many good reviews when everything about my stay was so disappointing. At check-in, the worker told us we had plenty of room options and promised to give us a “good room with a good view.” She asked us to wait until our reservation time. When she finally gave us the keys, she suddenly admitted she had made a mistake—our room didn’t actually have a private balcony, it had a shared one. This was never mentioned anywhere in the description. We were already frustrated, but decided to let it go. When we got to the room, we turned on the AC and it made a terrible, loud noise. We called the front desk immediately, and they sent a specialist who confirmed that the unit was defective and told us we should be moved to another room. We waited, but no one ever followed up. When we called again, the front desk told us there were no available rooms and, worse, that all their AC units make the same loud noise. We explained that it was impossible to sleep with that noise and asked them to do something—anything—to help us. Their response was basically, “There’s nothing we can do.” We even asked to cancel the reservation since the room was unlivable, but they said cancellation was not an option and that we had no choice but to stay. This hotel has terrible customer service, zero care for guests, and broken amenities. First they messed up our room, then stuck us with a noisy AC and refused to help.

Termite droppings on the pillow

W3 had to leave because the bed was covered with termite droppings. The woman at the front desk was sympathetic but the hotel was sold out so there was nothing she could do. When we called the desk about our concern they knew the room so I’m sure the problem had been reporting before.

A sleepless night

I have always stated that I need a quiet room, far away from any noisy mechanical rooms or busy foot traffic areas, but the front desk clerk NOT only did not pay attention to these requests online, when I verbally reminded him that I had requested such matters, he gave me a room that was very noisy from some kinds of machinery sounds or some unknown noise that made me could NOT sleep all night long :(

Great looking property, lovely gardens, a bit noisy from the street if you do not have a garden-view room. Luckly we did. Excellent parking options. Stuffy halls and very noisy from room above, they need to soundproof between the floors! The nieghborhood is walkable to Linden St but driving was better, not the nicest walk.

What a beautiful property!! I didn’t expect much since it was one of the cheapest options. But I was totally blown away by how nice the ground are.
