In spite of the stern external appearance, this hotel is actually quite good and is under rated. The room was new, clean and being a high rise, offered a nice open view to the suburbs. Comfortable bed and linen. Fridge and microwave. Great value for money, especially with a well equipped gym and a heated pool, free to all guests. There's a few fast food restaurants within walking distance. Downtown was just a 20 min drive away. Will book again for my future stay in Calgary.

The room was nice, they did a good job of renovating it. My only compaint would be they left the old thermostats and in the summer it would be a bit hot since the older thermostat doesnt have an option for air and didnt seem to work when we turned it down. We opened the window since it was a nice cool night. We were also surpised to see an old looking stand up shower and no bath tub. The breakfast was very good, but definitely have to tell the front desk how many are in your party at check in since expedia sometimes doesnt relay that info. Parking was a bit rough but we lucked out getting a spot where we could see it at night from our room. The pool was my childs favorite part, its a nice heated pool thats on the main floor past the lobby, its open year round and i believe it's salt water. Definitely would recommend staying again.
