Due to a flight cancellation, I required an overnight stay, booked the property at 3pm. For $390pn it was a big let down. Room fixtures were dated and in need of a paint or replacement. The room was dark and had noise from above. Definitely not worth $390 for one night.

LOVE Palm Cove

I always stay at Mantra Amphora Palm Cove, I’ve never tried anywhere else as always happy there. Having said that, the quality of the room/apartment on each visit has been a mixed bag. The one bedroom apartment, 815A, was outstanding! Poolside no less! It could have been a tad cleaner, but the bed was super comfy, it had a full sized kitchen and plenty of lounges and a dining table. Also well stocked with crockery and utensils. Palm Cove is gorgeous, beach across the road and loads of amazing restaurants to choose from. There is a frequent bus service to and from the city if required. Word of advice, if self catering there is a small local supermarket but HUGELY expensive! I saw loads of Mantra holiday makers having online food delivery from Coles and would do the same next time. Hope this is helpful!

Mantra Amphora Port Douglas

Wouldn’t recommend, and this place was not a “4 star” hotel. Was meant to be an ocean view room, all we had a view of was the back service area of the restaurant next door. The air con didn’t work properly, the toilet seat was broken and the bathroom extremely rusty and grotty. Despite being a “hotel room” and not an apartment set up there was no daily servicing of the room.

There is no service after check in. Do not expect help with your luggage. There is no room service of the bed linen etc unless you stay for 8 days or more. If you have mobility issues check which level you’re on as there are no lifts. Pool is nice.

Mantra Amphora Palm Cove

Room 714B was good size and generally well fitted out. Close access to pool facilities, VIVO resturant and the Palm Cove beach. Overall site and room security was v good. Some minor repairs had not been carried out - also fan in bedroom not functional -reported but not fixed during our 8 day stay. Main complaints 1. was limited supply of crockery. 2. twin beds had rollers so ofetn moved around during the night. 3. Main living area has no 'privacy' curtains -only a very thin open weave curtain - absolutely no privacy after sunset if lights were on in our apartment.

The standard room was very tired needed lots of small jobs doing. The superior room had been refurbished and was very good. Location of Mantra was great gardens and pool lovely. Staff very obliging

The property itself was very good. We arrived late and checked in. The toilet in our room was not working. I tried ringing down to reception but the phones were out of order. There was another number to ring but it would not connect me to reception. When I walked down to reception, the person there was not helpful suggesting that it was our fault (Are you pressing just one button at a time!!). When I said I couldn't connect to reception, he just looked at his phone and said "I don't have any missed calls". We were told every room was booked and we couldn't change. By midday the next day it was fixed, but it was not handled at all well initially.
