Worst place I have stayed in... ever

Check in was somewhat disorganized. Our room had hair on the bed and the bathroom when we came in. Mattresses were aged and extremely uncomfortable. I had a spring poking me in the back for the 2 nights I stayed and did not get much rest at all. It was Formula 1 weekend when we went so the hotel price was of course higher than normal but even at regular prices I would recommend staying away. Food was OK but nothing special. Find something else if at all possible.

Overnight stay in Budapest

It's not a 4* hotel but it's worth the value for the money in a non crowded area of Budapest, yet relatively close to down town (by car or public transport). Safe parking. No wifi in the rooms but in the lobby. I recommend this hotel for anyone who don't mind driving to down town or just transit the beautiful city.

For the price it's kinda ok

This hotel is an inexpensive getaway if you don't mind service, comfort, food, or any other thing. If you just need a place to sleep, park your car and be in Budapest for cheap, stay here. It is an old hotel, I bet in it's prime it was amazing, but many years and many many tourists later, the hotel is in real need of some care. The rooms are spacious, you have salty food every day, the beds doesn't smell very good, many years without changing the mattresses, the pillows the same deal, might as well sleep without them, the linen and towels are very thin of unimaginable times they have been washed. The hallways are very very creepy at night, it looks like an old Russian factory, but oh well, to save money it's all good, in the end you are just there to sleep ;)

Besides the TV-sets, which have only a few hungarian channels(I would suggest at least 1 international channel of each language,e.g.:1 french,1 italian,1 german,1 english,1 russian/polish/cheh,even if,the national ones,1 sport channel,1 kids channel)the remote control is an old one!

Solo Weekender

I wanted a cheap place to stay for a life-break of a few days and this hotel definitely fulfilled that purpose. The bed was a bit hard and the hotel gave me two twin beds instead of the requested single double bed which was awkward since I was traveling alone but didn't ruin my stay or anything. The complementary breakfast was good considering the price of the hotel and generally I'm happy with my stay. Would recommend this to someone on a budget looking to take a step up from a hostel but definitely not the place if you're looking for extra comforts or luxury of any kind.

Griff Hotel - an OK stay

My experience was just ok - can't say it was impressive; I can't say i got what I paid for either for I would normally expect a minimum. The reason why I dont' consider the minimum was achieved was due to the following: 1. There was no shampoo/soap so I had to buy my own; it is not expensive but it was unconvinient 2. My shower holder was broken - again, that was very unconvinient as I do enjoy a relaxing shower not having to hold it it my hands 3. One of the chairs in the room had a cigarette burning mark - did not necessarily bother me as the chair was still usable; however, this did not cause a good impression Now, depending how picky you are, it is your choice. I only stay for 2x days so this was an OK experience. Would I choose this hotel to stay as on a holiday - probably not. It would really depend on my budget.

When we first walked in to Hotel Griff, we were immediately asked if we were at the right hotel, or maybe if we were staying at Griff Jr., the hostel near by. Apparently we did not look like the kind of clientele Hotel Griff would prefer to host. Then, a few hours later at dinner, our waiter there told us that we could only order soup because everything else would take so long. Confused, we went to the bartender to ask him about this and he was totally confused and let us order whatever we wanted and all our food came in a timely manner. Any question we asked the front desk staff was met with short, almost hostile answers and extreme irritation. I am sorry I do not know how to use public transportation in Budapest. My bad. And you will need to know how to use public transportation because the hotel is on the way outskirts of the Buda side of town, not even on most city maps. At another dinner at the restaurant, we waited 45 minutes for our meals (for only 2 of us), while parties of 2, 4 and 8 who were all seated at the same time or after us got all 3 of their courses before we got one of ours.

A hotel where i am not going to go back

The door from the bathroom was broken, the furniture is old and broken, they don't have cable tv, therefore you can't watch tv, unless you like talk-shows in german or magyar. Check-in is at 14 and check-out at 10, they very strict with these hours. The good thing you can hace have a very good lunch or dinner at hotel's restaurant and affordable.

Tv in German and they said unable to change it despite info saying bbc and CNN was tuned to it. Private parties most nights in restaurant so unable to eat in. One breakfast all the tables were reserved and we had to eat in the bar. Room nice though and reception staff more than helpful when you eventually got their attention.
