Oaks Aurora Brisbane

We stayed at the Oaks Aurora Brisbane after booking online site unseen. A few things to know if you are booking this hotel. First, it's not a hotel but a high rise apt building. However, it is very nice and comfortable. It has NO hotel accommodations like room service, valet parking etc. It's not easy to navigate around into the parking lot during the busy hours of the day so plan accordiingly if you have a car and lots of baggage. The parking area is tight and daunting. Inside the high rise is a main desk. The agents are very nice and helpful. They don't work 24 hours though so plan accordingly here too. There are not a lot of restaurants around open after 6pm. There are 2 grocery stores fairly close. Since dining out is expensive and you have a nice kitchen in the apt., we saved money dining in. Something to consider.... There are a lot of sites nearby, the gardens, etc. Best way to get around town is by ferry and nearby is a main stop, Riverside. The rooms were very nice and modern for the price, nice beds and clean. I'd say 4 1/2 star by US/UK standards. I would stay here again and would recommend the Oaks Aurora.
