Property tho easy to find was hard to enter due to no on site staff and no voear instructions on how to enter property through touch screen keypad. Room was a moderate size but only one cup for two people to share, tv had zero channels to watch and surrounding area of property is unkept, dirty and looks like most buildings on their last legs the whole of Brighton needs work to bring it up to standards

There were no towels in the room and although I spent half an hour on the phone to the given numbers the only reply I got was that the number dialled was for reservations only.. The second number rang out. Could not find any instructions of how to deal with a problem in the building. Also the tv was set on a foreign channel. Once again no room information on how to operate.

Where do I start? Firstly we called up and they said we are able to leave our luggage there anytime after 12. We arrived at 12 and called up as no one answered the door. We were told someone would be with us in about 2/3 mins. We waited 1 hour and no one had come. We left as we didn’t want to waste the day and by that time it had gone 1pm. We came back at about 3:30/4 and called up as nothing had been made clear earlier on, or any time on how to clock-in as staff were there answering the door. Both the numbers we had previously been given were going straight to answerphone. After about 30 mins I got sent an email with a code but still no instructions on how to use the code. After we figured out how to get in, we went up to our room.The room looked nice and the bed was comfortable, we had some hope.Until we found out the toilet door had no lock on, the toilet was broken, the light on the mirror didn’t work, it didn’t flush and finally the shower was kept going very cold when turned up warm. One of the windows didn’t fully shut and one of the wardrobes was screwed shut? We will not be staying again.

Pay a bit extra elsewhere for a good night.

I had to call the company to recieve details of entry as they still hadnt sent me codes etc to enter. The room was tiny and i had to rearrange the room to enter the bathroom as a cabinet was blocking the door. The pillows were so hard i woke up with neck ache. A fire alarm error went off at 4am. I had to call up the company again to sort it out which took a while- i had to disable it as landlord/owner wasnt mearby to check out the error code. To top it off its so noisy, had people shouting at 6am. Genuinely one of the worst stays in my life.

Functional and clean, if a little shabby.

It's a nice place for the price, very clean. Tea / coffee facilities were good. The room was a but tired with the lavatory seat completely broken and the bathroom mirror frame falling to bits. I did find one very amusing thing...they had bought a picture frame and just put it up without adding a picture. Very odd! All in all a great proce, very clean and fuctional.

Room looked old with rough paintjob in bathroom and on walls of bedroom. Wrong pincode for getting into our room(even had a fellow guest try to get us in to avail) we had rung the helpline on email for any problems, and they made out like it should've worked but then gave us another code for door! Shower went from boiling hot to freezing in 10 secs which was rather unpleasant, And toilet seat just about coming off...overall a disappointing stay. Thank goodness we only had two nights there....

Disgusting property poorly.

The room had definitely not been cleaned for a while and in particular the bathroom. The hostel staff came to look, agreed it was disgusting and suggested they would send the cleaner the following morning. No cleaner came the following morning. Stains all around the toilet and what appeared to be coffee splashed over the walls and shower. There were also cigarette butts blocking the sink plug hole. Vile place with staff that have no interest in correcting the issues.

Poor communication with payment style They only wanted cash Got to the hotel at 3pm and there were several people waiting to be checked in. Check in was over the phone with a PIN number and we waiting 30 mins outside Once we were let in the property was fine other than a really heavy front door that closes very quickly and sometimes catches ur heel if you don’t get out in time Room was fine. Nothing special but was ok Needs a smoother check in process if it’s over the phone style if I would comment on anything they need to change

Would help if you could actually get into the property without the door jamming. Nobody available to answer the phone. Do not stay here unless you want to risk being locked outside the property without your belongings!

Terrible, extremely disappointing experience ever!

Unsafe with fire security issue, the place was closed but still rented out??? First problem. On arrival at 3.10 pm (automatic checkins only, no staff on site) even outside the building I could hear that the fire alarm was off. Once I entered the building, I called the hotel number and I was promised that the faulty alarm would be fixed shortly. The second problem. Once I unlocked the door to my room, my key got stuck in the lock what was already falling apart, very old as everything in the building. I notified the hotel staff by calling them and got another 'promise' that this would be fixed. Then I left the hotel to explore Brighton. After three hours, at 6 pm I received a call from a hotel staff asking me if I managed to check in. In response, I had to remind the fire alarm problem and the stuck key problem. The person 'promised' that their colleagues would fix the issues. Once back to the hotel at 8 pm, surprise, surprise! Nothing changed. Then I checked the fire alarm panel and found a servicing company A&T number. Their response was "call fire brigade on 999.This building is and was closed and not to be rented out." So I called 999 who arrived in 2 minutes and then a neighbour mentioned that there was a flooding in the building what damaged electricity and the place seems to be unsafe, confirming A&T reply. Finally at 9 pm I left back to Cambridge. I asked for a refund, got nothing so far. Hotels.com promised £30 in vouchers even though I paid £120 for the night.
