PLEASE do NOT put hot water used for tea in a thermos that has had coffee in it - tea water is then flavored with a coffee taste - disgusting!!!! Also DECAFE coffee was always cold - not good. Bathroom needs more than only one hook for towels and clothing. Toilet paper holders are awful - do not function well - rolls are constantly getting caught in the hooks or falling off altogether.

The place looks good and staff is friendly but there were many problems and we wont be back. Most concerning was the loud noises above us from 12 am - 1am. Stomping, slamming doors, someone dropping heavy items. I called the front desk and was told she'd take care of it. But she was rude about it. Next, the beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable. Not enought towels or soap for our family. The pool is tiny and cold! Many ripped dangling curtains and old food in the pool area. When we came back from dinner out room cards didnt work and we had to get new ones. The whole stay seemed like the manager is trying to save money in areas but they lost ours now. The breakfast was good in the am and the place is clean and looks nice. But after the craziness above us in the night I was concerned for our safety and actually thought about calling the police. Crazy slamming around and stomping in the night is very strange on a sunday night! Anyway, not a good place.

The Fairfield by Marriott was one of the pricier hotel in the area. For the higher price I expected more. Most disappointing was the lack of cleanliness, in the room and the gym, quality of the breakfast, and the room seemed worn out. The one thing I did like was the carpet in the stairways and the wide berth of the stairs. The staff was okay but maybe fewer front staff and more cleaning people. The ones they did have were not pleasant.

Simple notes: * It was exactly what I needed for a quick turn from a concert at Darien. * I checked in before, it was quick, easy and the right level of interaction - pleasant and helpful with light chatting but not too much * The room was standard which was perfect. Clean, nice layout and as comfy. * Breakfast was good. It had enough options for different moods or preferences. I don't recall seeing a fridge or microwave mentioned on the website but they were in the room which is probably good to know ahead if you want to plan on snacks since that opens up your options. Perfect for what I needed.

Check-in was quick and easy. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. Loved the location and the quietness of the hotel. If you have a normal diet (no allergies like me) then this breakfast looked delicious!! All in all would recommend!!
