Villa Ferrer
"I want to note that this review revolves around value-for-money. If this place cost USD 30-50/night there would be (almost) no complaints, but when you charge USD 100/night you have to let yourself be held to a higher standard. Also the staff were very kind and helpful and are the highlight of this place. My only beef is with the owners here. The pictures for the Deluxe Double room show a big balcony with two nice reclining chairs. I got a tiny dirty balcony with a single cheap plastic chair, that wasn’t even private (there was a second door from the common area to the balcony). The room (in particular the bathroom) isn’t well maintained or cleaned (see pics). One of the lights kept flickering and the other one kept going on and off 24/7. On the last two days of my stay they were doing some renovations on the house. They started at 7am and 7.30am respectively. In my opinion 10am should be the earliest that is acceptable at a hotel and you should notify your guests in advance (ideally before they arrive, but at least the night before). Lastly there’s a coffee machine in the kitchen they showed me when I arrived. I was under the impression that the coffee would be complimentary, but upon check out I was presented with a bill for four coffees consumed. Again, all-in-all not worth the money. There are better and/or cheaper places on Batanes (and yes I appreciate that it’s more expensive here than other parts of the Philippines, but this still holds)."
