Rooms look modern and clean, but dark due to the fact that the small window opens to the building vent. Front desk staff seemed overwhelmed checking in two parties at the same time, which was reflected in their treatment of customers.

Comfortable, clean, friendly and competent staff. The location is perfect. The Rambla is the heart of Barcelona center, and is in the old city. The Gothic quarter is right across the street from the hotel, the harbor is a 3 minute walk, public transportation is a couple of minutes walk, taxis are everywhere. I'll also put in a plug for Top Tapas, the restaurant adjoined to the hotel. It shares a door between, and its terrace is right outside. Excellent food and wait staff. I totally enjoyed my stay.

Nice Location

This hotel had a great location right on las rambla. The staff was very friendly and helpful with us. They helped us with any questions. We were there unfortunately during the terrorist attack and the hotel was very open to help anyone they could and take them in for shelter. The room itself was very small; the bathroom seemed just as big as the room. So if someone is looking for a big room to chill in this hotel isn’t it however it worked for a place to stay right on the main road and was cheaper than the other ones on the street.

Pros: Excellent location at a very fair price. Very comprehensive breakfast, with nice breakfast staff.
Cons: Could be more generous with towels and amenities. Desk staff was accommodating, but not particularly warm. Maintenance work banging on wall at 7am.
Location: The location is excellent! Near to restaurants, beach, La Rambla, and Gothic Quarter for dinner.
The stay went well, and the location was excellent, but would provide a tepid recommendation to a friend.

Nice hotel, super close to metro

The hotel was nice great location and awesome staff. The room was nice the ac is regulated by hotel so it got kind of warm and when we opened the window we would get the back smell of the restaurant next door But other than that it was great. It was somewhat pricy., actually the most pricy in our vacation thru Europe but yes I would stay there again.

Hard to beat location, facility & staff

Pros: Everything. Friendly staff. Complimentary wine on day 1, water on days1 & 2 and chocolates all 3 days. Hot water, comfy bed, well lit, big mirrors
Cons: No early check-in, so plan to arrive close to 2 PM
Location: Besides walking in the narrow old streets of the Gothic quarter, Placa Catalunya is a few blocks up the Ramblas. We took hop-on, hop-off buses there.
First, many thanks to Christina and Igor at the reception counter; they were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is on Barcelona's main pedestrian street, the Ramblas, close to the cruise ship docks. Great for us after a week's cruise. It is a short walk to many restaurants in the Gothic quarter; my wife and I ate at four of them, one excellent, two very good and only one "just" good. The hotel is modern and clean, bathroom is large compared to most 3-star hotels we've stayed at in southern Europe..We skipped their breakfast because a bakery a short walk up the Ramblas opens at 6 AM and I brought a 220 volt water kettle, tea bags and coffee packs. The hotel will loan you one of their kettles.

Hotel room was nice but a bit on the smaller size. Had all the necessities it needed however it became extremely hot at night with little ventilation. Otherwise it was very nice for a 5-day stay!

Close to beach but can be a bit noisy.

Pros: Location. Value. Staff / customer support.
Cons: Beds could be a bit more comfortable. Rooms are a bit small but I guess this is typical in Europe.
Location: Beaches. Gothic Quarter. Las Ramblas. Architecture in general. I would wander out from Ramblas for restaurants, cafes etc.
Location is great. Near the beaches and Barri Gotic. The Gothic quarter is fantastic. The beaches/Mediterranean are great as well. We spent most of our time in both places for two weeks. The room is ok, a bit small (typical I guess of Europe) and the mattress and pillows are very firm, however we both slept pretty well on them with no real complaints. On several nights the street noise from Las Ramblas was loud enough to wake either my wife or myself or both. For me though, it wasn't that big of a deal. We were on vacation and taking in the sights and sounds of Barcelona. Sometimes we would get up and just watch the on-goings on Las Ramblas for a while before returning to bed. Also, we ended up buying a bottle or two of wine from the many local stores in the area and we would have a glass (or two or three) while we watched from our balcony the street entertainers, painters, artists etc, and all the people meandering up and down Las Ramblas every night when we got back from our travels. That turned out to be a favorite part of our day and it helped us sleep better throughout the night. All in all we had a tremendous time and have no serious complaints. I must emphasize the location if you are a beach person. We walked to the beach (about ten to fifteen minutes or so) nearly every day and wouldn't trade that for anything. Walking in Barcelona is fantastic. You experience the place so much more than if you use taxis or some other means of transportation.
