The Ridge completely disappointed. The first room they gave me had fishing bait left in the refrigerator and the a/c didn’t work. I went down to the desk (couldn’t call because the phone didn’t work) and the woman at the desk gave me excuse after excuse. I finally told her to fix the problem, so I got a new room. The new room had a NASTY refrigerator that didn’t work, I just dealt with it cause I figured I couldn’t expect better. The desk and television blocked the room mirror, which was filthy. They appear to be doing some redecorating or remodeling, however the hall and stairway walls and carpets were filthy, the outside of the building was unkempt. Not a nice experience and not a nice place to stay if you are visiting Portage.

Room was acceptable staff was rude. I ask for face towels and wash clothes and this man wants to come in my room when we are 2 single women after 11 pm at night

I enjoyed having the pool available. Room smelled clean; bathroom was clean. Doors show age and abuse. Carpeting is old and stained. Frig, a/c,tv worked well. I'd stay again.

This room should be rented out by the hour, not the day! Jute back showed through on traffic patterns, mold/cracked walls around air conditioner, shower stall had discolored corners. Not what I would call a "deal" from anyone / agency! I'm going to suggest that the operator who took my reservation was ill-equipped to be in the position that she was, as I specifically told her that my credit card was NOT to be charged as I would pay in cash when I got there. And then, she got my email address wrong which forced me to use my time/resources to straighten things out. Pretty much, never again.

Old but worth every penny

The facility is old and looks it, but our room was very clean and all of the sheets and towels smelled very fresh, that is truly the most important thing for me. There was no issue relocating us to a first floor room more was there a issue with my service dog. The only issue of our stay was that there was some form of construction work being done to the room next to ours and I was woken up by the sound of a power saw at 0800, but other than that I was happy with our stay.

Cheap hotel, gets the job done.

The room was clean and it was cheap. Were here for a weekend in the Dells. This was cheaper than staying there. The carpet could be replaced because it was stained. The room didn't have light blocking curtains. Seriously? That really irked me, impossible to sleep in, but the sheets and shower were clean and that's what's important.

Bad place to stay

This hotel smells and is terribly outdated And in need of repair. Stain and smelly carpet. Shower was very hard to adjust the water temp. The ONLY plus was its close to interstate and McDonalds . For the price it was a terrible experience

If you are looking for cheap and don't mind old...

We wanted to stay in the Wis. Dells area for one night but wanted to find a "cheap" hotel. The positives: it was quiet. Few other guests and most of those were hard working construction guys...who were great hotel mates. It was close to the highway and easy to get in and out of. Ample parking, across the street from McDonalds and had lots of other restaurants and fast food near by. There is an indoor pool. We didn't use it. There was a frig., microwave, and coffee pot in the room. Also, because we were a 20 min. drive from the Dells we didn't have to pay the extra room tax for local rooms. Staff and local folks were very nice. Now the negatives: We guessed the hotel was built in the 1970's. They were putting in new asphalt the day we were there, but our room hadn't been updated in decades. The room in general was old, run down, and shabby looking. Carpet desperately needed replacing, Lots of signs of ware everywhere you looked. My advice...if you want cheap and are only going to be in the room to sleep it will do very nicely. If you were traveling if kids, in this room I wouldn't worry about the kids making a mess because the room isn't pretty or fancy. On the other hand I wouldn't have let my baby crawl around on that carpeting, It was too old and icky.
