Run down property - elevator repairs; outer hallways dirty and run down. Room clean though. Maintenance attended quickly to burned out light bulb. Staff friendly and quite helpful. Required valet parking on weekends. No dining at site. Breakfast was mediocre; creamers and teas not replenished.

Disappointing stay at the La Quinta in Austin

Upon arrival, the first room that I was given, the door would not open. Went downstairs was assigned a new room. It was inside a hallway, the hallway smelled like smoke and marijuana. The room itself was not clean. We had to queen size beds, the one bed was saggy saggy and when you sat on it the other side of the bed would rock. The area where they had the continental breakfast, was also dirty, and staff was rude refusing to refill waffle batter. I would not stay at this La Quinta again, and I would advise my friends and family against staying there.

The beds were really good. The staff was very accommodating to my request for a quiet room - the room was very quiet. The bathroom could use a going-over - there was a constant dripping from the toilet and something needs to be done to combat the effects of moisture. The water did not heat up adequately.

The room was clean. The only bad smells I detected were in the parking garage in the morning. Perhaps there were overnight visitors? Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was unspectacular but good. I'd recommend this place.

First of all they charge way too much for what that hotel is. First time I stayed there I was bitten by spiders all over my back. The breakfast is very limited but they did have waffles until the waffle machine broke. I had been staying there off and on since I lost my apartment never had a problem with using my PayPal card until I tried to check in after booking a room and was told that my PayPal card or any other prepaid debit card would not accepted. I told them that I've never had a problem using my PayPal card before and was told by Hotel manager that everybody who had checked me in before using that PayPal card should not have done that and that it's been a rule for a while now. The hotel manager was one of the people that had let me use my PayPal card in the past to check in. After being very upset and crying because I had nowhere else to go and they had already taken my money and was going to take days for it to come back on to my account was told that I had 30 minutes to figure something out and then I was going to be asked to leave the lobby. So after spending hundreds of dollars there to stay in this hotel I was treated as if I was bum off the street with no job and no money.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is what it is - an older building that is desperate for an update and, not just a coat of paint. However, it costs a third of the price of anywhere else in the area and its location is fantastic. Walking distance to downtown and UT. Neighborhood is mostly businesses so felt as safe as any downtown area even though there are of course homeless people nearby. Everything worked except the waffle maker - hot water, air conditioning, etc. Just know you’re signing up for a two star hotel not a five star one and appreciate the location for the cost.
