Our family had a fantastic 11-day stay at Southern Exposure during the Christmas-New Year holiday. From the moment we arrived we were impressed with how spotless and well-maintained the house was, making us feel right at home immediately. The thoughtful amenities provided, from the fully stocked kitchen to the comfortable living space made our extended stay more convenient and enjoyable. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed the heated pool, as grandparents and parents we enjoyed the ability to supervise the kids in the pool from the large patio area and also from inside sitting areas. The sunsets across the Lake were absolutely breathtaking every evening. Communication with the hosts Arden and Jan was seamless, they were incredibly friendly and responsive. Every time we had a request, they provided for our needs. They even shared locally harvested oranges and grapefruits which were delicious. Prior to our visit Jan decorated a Christmas tree in the living room for us. For our 11 day stay, everything exceeded our expectations. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better home away from home and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable and well equipped vacation rental. We can’t wait to return.

We enjoyed our stay. The owners were very friendly. We also enjoyed watching our neighbor next door feed the birds and squirrels every day The house was very clean and the fully stocked kitchen made it nice to have dinner by the pool. We would definitely stay there again

The pool is a great size and overlooks a beautiful lake full of coastal birds. The patio around the pool was great for relaxing. They had floats ready to go for the kids to play with. The lights in the pool are really fun and colorful at night.

The house was wonderful! Everything was absolutely as advertised, clean and well stocked with dishes/pots/pans. We came for a wedding and had the house full; every bed was used and members of the wedding party and out-of-town guests stopped by for meals with the family. It was entertaining to watch morning skiers on the lake while sitting by the pool with coffee. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Jan and Arden were great with communication, always answering any question we had and available if needed. It's a lovely neighborhood with a beautiful, tranquil view. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it for a great get-away!

When we arrived (late after a stormy flight) we didn't get a proper view of the house, but it was so lovely to be able to have a place to go to that was ready for us. Upon waking and having a chance to explore the house, it's great! The pool was great, we enjoyed just lounging around and we were close to stores to be able to grocery shop. Thank you so much for a great experience!

I absolutely love this place my six-year-old nephew and I just enjoyed everything. The pool was wonderful. The lake is beautiful. The neighborhood is beautiful. Jan is just the best couldn’t ask for more.

Perfect home away from home!

This property is not only gorgeous, it also has everything you could need to feel at home. The neighbors are friendly and so welcoming that we were all sad to leave. Jan and Arden were so accommodating and were always a text away if needed. Looking forward to staying here again!

Perfect lake house

I had such a great time staying at Southern Exposure! The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and in a perfect location. The view of the lake from the pool area was our favorite part of this rental.Home is older but it was very clean and cared for. Communication back and forth from the owners about the rental was great as well. We would stay here again!

Definitely quiet! Very clean and Jan goes above and beyond to ensure you feel welcome. My first time renting VRBO for travel. I usually stay at hotels when traveling. If you want quiet and private, this is a win. Only thing is, be prepared to help with some of the chores. Not a big deal if traveling alone or with your partner, just something new and unexpected, but not a big deal. One last thing, if you're a fisherman, this is the home to rent! BIG BASS!! TANKS!

We enjoyed our stay. Pool is nice and the view and birds behind pool (on lake) are amazing. Loved listening to them before bed and waking up to them. Bunnies bouncing around was so cute also.

Peaceful and pretty

We had a fabulous stay at Southern Exposure! Arden and Jan were wonderful hosts and the property was pristine. We really settled in and felt at home here, we were very welcome and any questions we had were easily taken care of with a quick visit or call next door. It was the perfect location for all of our activities and we enjoyed the pool and the birds on the lake a lot. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer! - A&B

Trip with a great view

This place is exactly as described. We spent our days sitting by the pool and listening to the wonderful wildlife. There is a park walking distance from the house to take nice walks on. The house is so relaxing from the couch to the master bed. I had the best night sleep i have had in a long time there. Kitchen is fully stocked and grocery store is close by. Jan is a wonderful person and answers any questions quickly. If you are worried about owner staying next door, we never saw them once. Only on last day when we checked out.

Wonderful stay

Relaxing, quiet neighborhood with nice pool and a beautiful view of the lake! Great time kayaking and fishing. House is very nice, clean, spacious and Jan is a great host! She was also very quick to respond if I needed anything! Wonderful place to stay with family and friends !

Our safe haven during hurricane Milton

We loved our stay at southern exposure. The house is very well laid out so everyone feels like they have their own space. The kitchen that opens into the living room set up is very nice for socializing without feeling crowded. With the hurricane predicted we felt as safe as possible staying at the house. Everything was sturdy and safely secured. Jan & Arden were great about communicating on what we needed to do to prepare and thankfully we lucked out. We made it through the storm with a standing house and power. We didn’t expect to spend so much time at the house, but our circumstances changed. So we are so grateful for such a wonderful home that protected our family and allowed us to share lots of cherished memories together. We hope to visit again sometime soon!

Beautiful

Beautiful house and property. Nice quiet neighborhood but convenient and close to plenty of shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Hosts were great and the house was amazing. We will definitely be looking for this one again on our next trip to the area.
