Parador De Siguenza
"The Parador de Sigüenza is set in a magnificent 12th century medieval fortress. We asked for a room overlooking the courtyard and were delighted that one was available. The staff were delightful. We had read that service was slow in the restaurant and were confident that the comments were just isolated incidents. We were wrong! Service was very slow! However, this was just the way that service is done at this Parador - you don’t pop in for some fast food - you go for the ambience and a leisurely meal. The Parador is just a few minutes walk to the centre of town - down a fairly steep hill (which seems even steeper when you are going back up it). The highlight of the town is the cathedral- lots to see, a must visit (the hundreds of heads in the ceiling was quite a surprise!). Parking was easy for us - we managed to get the last free parking space inside the fortress walls - parking outside costs a few euros a day. We spent two full days (three nights) at the Parador and were ready to move on as we had seen everything in those two days. One of the best Paradors that we have stayed in."
