This hotel had alot of problems. They are understaffed. Long waits too speak to somewhat at the desk. I stood and waited 15 minutes while the only person working took a complicated reservation over the phone. When I expressed some frustration, she gave me a sour look. I arrived at 2:30 PM and although check in time is 3 PM I was told not a single room was ready. I needed to leave and asked if my partner, who wanted to take a nap, could check in for me. No, that was against the rules, so I had to wait 30 minutes to check in at exactly 3 PM. I'm sure they could have found one double room that was clean and allowed me to check in without the wait. Unfortunately, the room they gave us had a faulty air conditioner which made a clanking, rhythmic mechanical noise (instead of the usual hum) which was loud enough to prevent sleep. I requested it be fixed or be allowed to switch to another room. When we returned from dinner, the unit was still making noise. The lone employee at the desk told me it had been checked and that all the air conditioners in the hotel made this noise. I knew that was untrue because the air conditioners in the hallways made the usual low level hum. When I said I wanted a new room anyway, I was told it was not possible. The pool and hottub were supposed to be open 24 hours a day, but the next morning they were closed. Beds were comfortable and beakfast was good. But a hotel this size needs a bigger staff and needs to go the extra mile for the paying customers.

For the price being charged, the quality and customer service is lacking. WiFi is terrible, so if you need access or even want to stream something, good luck. Front desk staff seem uninterested in providing even basic customer services. Definitely do not recommend.

Raven ( the front desk clerk ) was Extremely helpful in upgrading my reservation ! We decided @2pm on friday the 16th to spend the night in astoria for my daughters 28th bday! The grandkids ages 4 &7 LOVED the 24 pool! In 2 days they swam for 8 hours four hours rach day while the parents and nana swapped out lifeguard duty! The trolley is only $1 and takes u all over so u dont gotta find parking! Will stay here again! Ooh and compliments to their fabulous breakfast staff! He puts out an excellent spread! With his lovely helper! Your staff should be commended for their fabulous service!

We took a last second spontaneous trip to the beach with the kids.They did allow a single room for 5 people, offered late check in and a complimentary breakfast which was nice and at a more reasonable price than others in the area. There was a 24hr pool we didnt have time to enjoy. However... the one sink didn't drain at all (even overnight) so we had to brush and wash hands in the bathtub. They also didn't mention prior to booking that it was a conjoined room and there was a hoard of sea lions barking on the river that you could hear from the room which definitely made it hard to sleep. The carpets and sofa were also not the cleanest but the beds themselves and bedding seemed clean. One of the beds was also lifted off to the right that I nearly tripped on. Overall, it was functional for a place to sleep but for the other reasons listed I will likely not be returning.

Beautiful Location for a Stay in Astoria

Excellent service from reception to housekeeping to breakfast support. The internet fell short as outside tech support was needed when unable to connect and I had to make the call -- odd experience. Otherwise, the hotel is near water and a wonderful walking/cycling trail.
