We have stayed here several times before and I thought every room had a bath and did not request one. I asked the following morning if we could be moved to a room with a bath and this was very kindly and promptly arranged. The problem was insects in the new room. We had 2 little chocolate delivered every evening at turn down. The first night they were crawling with little orange insects. Lots of them. I flushed them down the toilet. The same thing happened the next night. I took them down and showed reception who said the room would be sprayed. It wasn’t. It happened every night and we could see the little insects crawling about in the desk area. I reported it again and asked for a manager to come up and look. I was told that a manager and housekeeping would come to the room. They didn’t. At checkout (we stayed 6 nights) I asked again that a manager come to the room. The receptionist refused and asked me what I wanted done about it. It was of course too late. I told her how unhappy we were with how it had been dealt with (or not dealt with!)
We didn’t know what the insects were, whether we should worry about them getting into our belongings,etc and were uncomfortable for most of our stay. Two days later ( we had moved to another hotel in Tenerife) a manager phoned and said she’d just been told and apologised.
These things happen. The way it was dealt with was dreadful for a 5 star hotel and I don’t think we’ll return.
