Hotel Needs an Upgrade

Lincoln Hotel Monterey Park offers the traveler what they need for basic services. The room and bathrooms are spacious. The shower pressure was strong and the water was hot. The tub drained well. There is parking in the premises. But it can use an upgrade as the space feels old and dated. The breakfast can also be improved as it is obvious that you are getting yesterday's leftovers.

There are tons of restaurants options across the street. Even though it looks old from the outside, it’s pretty clean and quiet. It also offers free breakfast with various selections. Highly recommended!

The photos are much better than the room. Sheets were clean, but the windows were dirty. Room smelled strong of cleaning solutions (Pine Sol). Floor was clean but had a weird stickiness, luckily I had flip flops. Bathroom was clean but worned out. Hallway carpet is gross and stinky, should definitely be replaced. Luckily only stayed for one night. Parking fee of $5/night, which was not shared on listing--street parking is easy and free.

The breakfast was a Chinese breakfast, with noodles, porridge, and other staple Chinese breakfast vegetables. But they also had cold french fries and potatoes, macaroni salad and other random items. It wasn’t what we were expecting, it would have been better if the food was hot but most of the breakfast items were cold. The room was fine but they only clean it every 3 days. The tub didn’t have a stopper so don’t expect to take baths.

The hotel is mainly set up for Korean and Asian travelers. Breakfast is highly tilted toward Asian breakfast meals. Other than that, I thought the place was great. We were probably the only western people in the hotel at that time. Definitely liked it and would definitely stay there again.

The moment I walked in the place was filthy! It was in a bad area China town. All the couches in the lobby were black dirty and the floor dirty I didn’t want to even check in but I couldn’t lose my money. The staff told us we will have an upgraded room which made me happy but when we went inside the room was horrible and so dirty! The carpet was sticky and our feet were black from walking barefoot in 1 hour. We woke up all itchy and then the breakfast was worse! No eggs, no bacon, no protein at all! Just greens, noodles and boiled potatoes. Not even forks but chop sticks. At night we walked around to get dinner but there is only Chinese food and not great tasting anywhere. Def the worst experience of my life. Shampoo your rugs, clean your upholstery, make better food, buy some forks not just chopsticks, my toddler couldn’t eat.

The property is quite outdated and in need of renovations. Upon arrival, there was an unpleasant odor in our first room, prompting us to request a different one. While the smell was slightly less noticeable in the second room, it was still present. We attempted to call the front desk several times over a 30-minute period to request extra towels but received no response. My husband eventually went down to the front desk, where staff said they would bring towels to our room shortly. However, after waiting over an hour with no delivery, we had to return to the front desk to follow up, they were given to us at that time. The water pressure in the room was extremely low, making it difficult to shower. The toilet was very small, and the seat was loose and came off multiple times, requiring us to put it back ourselves. Additionally, the sink was at an unusually low height, which made it uncomfortable to use as we had to bend low. We're not tall people 5'7". Breakfast was VERY disappointing, with limited options. All of the food was cold, except for the waffles which guests make themselves. The room served its basic purpose for sleeping and showering. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the sheets had visible stains and the towels were very worn out. Overall, we were not satisfied with our stay and would not choose to return to this hotel.
