Have to take a cab everywhere!

Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, rough beach sand
The property is nice and the staff is friendly. However, the food and drinks are expensive. The alternative isn't good either. If you stayed on La Costera, you could walk out your door and grab a bus for almost nothing to get around the town. Not so at this place. You're stuck with a $35 US cab fare every time you come or go. The resort is at the bottom of over a mile of steep driveways, and the main street at the top is not pedestrian friendly. The other bad thing they don't tell you until you're there. You're not allowed to bring in any outside food or beverages. You're stuck paying $4 for a coke and $80-100 for dinner for four. I you do make the mistake of booking here, take the cab and check out the local taco places. Stay away from KFC and Pizza Hut. After all, you're in Acapulco! P.S. The kid center is lame for kids older than 5.

had visions of camino real oaxaca but this was nothing like it

Cons: just plain bad
i wanted to try the get-to-hotel-and-never-leave-the-property experience. bad idea at camino real acapulco. horrible food. the spa services were expensive and ridiculously bad. the mani/pedi was done using a hospital basin and she had so few colour choices - the bottles looked like they were 2 years old. not worth the money.

We went first in April, 2010 and we had an excellent experience and decided to go back in Aug. 2010. We were not treated the same way and I will NOT

Pros: staff at the breakfast time were very coordial
Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, Noisy, Poor breakfast, nothing was free not worth it for price
We went first in April, 2010 and we had an excellent experience and decided to go back in Aug. 2010. We were not treated the same way and I will NOT go back. We had to move to a room b/c they were building next to our room and you can imagine the hammering, the noise. We had to carry our own suitcases 6 sets of stairs!!! And when I requested to move us to another room, they charged $100.00 more a day; a total disaster. Never go back there. We're planning another trip to Acapulco but we will pick another hotel.

Not what I was expecting

This hotel is located between the airport and the central city of Acapulco and is very secluded. There are no other hotels close by and no restaurants close by and it would be necessary to take a taxi everywhere you go if you don't rent a car. When I checked in I noticed that the room was clean and quite nice but no iron and when you travel your clothes could use a little attention. No clock--alarm. You can not drink the water from the tap and if you do, you probably can plan on spending hours next to the commode! There are bottles of water for sale in the room. 8 ounce for about $3.75. The breakfast buffet is terrible and costs about $21.00 The onion soup is great but that is abut it. The hotel staff is fantastic and very friendly-helpful! Too bad they work in a less than average place. The pool's are small and there is no beach to hang out on. I have stayed in Acapulco no less than 30 times at several different hotels but the one I like was booked and this one was close to the golf course where I was playing in a tourney. Anywhere you go there are stairs you have to climb so if you have problems walking up and down stairs all day, do not stay here. The front desk gave me a room with an adjoining door for the next room. I HEARD EVERYTHING THE COUPLE WERE DOING AND SAYING VERY CLEARLY. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT GET ONE OF THESE ROOMS........ Will not stay here again even if it was for free. Taxi fee to airport 15 minutes away----- $25.00--- PRETTY HIGH. TO DOWNTOWN-----15 MINUTES AWAY----$30.00----VERY HIGH. THINK ABOUT IT HARD BEFORE YOU STAY HERE.........

Too Expensive for what you get

Pros: Great views Nice set of pools Acceptable Service Hamburgers are good Cons Has the smallest (probably 15 meteres wide) beach in the world and full of jelly fish Food is extremely expensive Food is terrible (one morning the orange juice was fermented, another day the apple pie was frozen) If you really like the beach, go to the hotels next to ""revolcaderoB4s beach"", the beach was so small that sometimes the sea level reached the resting area. Far away from all great places to go (In the middle of the old and new Acapulco). For what you pay, better go to the nice hotels next to the ""revolcaderoB4s beach"", they have better beaches, food and service. DonB4t go If you are traveling with a handicaped, an old person or a pregnant woman because it is located in the side of a hill so you have to go up and down all the time. (hundreds of stairs)

A nice hotel for a relaxing holiday

My girlfriend and I spent a week in this hotel. The hotel itself was good, the rooms were big, there were a few pools and a small private beach. The food was good as well. However, there were a lot of children which made the time on the beach not too relaxing. Also, the internet was extremely expensive and slow. Another problem is that the hotel is far away from pretty much everything. There are some good restaurants 5 minutes away by taxi, I would recomend Becco. All in all a good hotel if you are looking to get plenty of rest.

Good for a Quiet Getaway

We upgraded our room to a Camino Club room upon arrival at the hotel. This includes a room with a bay view, the breakfast buffet, 2-hour cocktail hour in the evening, robes, cookies in the afternoon , and a concierege service (which we did not utilise). Initially, we were assigned a room in close proximity to the construction site next door, but the front desk changed it with no problem.\nThe setting is beautiful, there are plenty of chairs (both in sun & shade) at the 3 pools, the hotel & grounds are clean & well-kept. The beach area is very small and private. The food at the hotel is fresh and well prepared, however it is boring, bland, and overpriced. The drinks are expensive if you drink outside the free club cocktail hour. Located in the Diamante district, cab fares to town or outside restaurants are a minimum $ 20.00 each way using the taxis at the hotel. We arranged for a private driver during our stay negotiating our itinerary and prices beforehand. At any rate, taxi costs (should you wish to travel anywhere outside the hotel ) will be considerable. Our room (#517) had an on-going problem with air conditioning failure throughout our stay, however it was always promptly resolved.\nThe employees are courteous and aim to please. Some have a better command of English than others. The hotel is popular with Mexican nationals from Mexico City seeking a week-end escape, and the hotel does host business gatherings. If you are seeking a quiet getaway in a location that is remote from downtown Acapulco this is a good choice. If you are looking for pumped-up action and activites, seek another venue.

Great location; good facilities; below average restaurants

Great location; good facilities; below average restaurants. For a place that is a fair distance from the town and other eateries, the food at the restaurants was very mediocre. Prices, of course, were above average!!
