The View from Rochester Hotels
New York’s third largest city sits on the southern shores of Lake Ontario in the western region of the state. Hotels in Rochester serve guests with ample opportunity to enjoy the city’s historic charm and family-friendly attractions.
With one of the Great Lakes to the north, the Genesee River and its waterfalls running through the city proper, and the Erie Canal traversing its borders, nearly any Rochester hotel offers peaceful views. The best glimpses, however, are had at the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse.
Exploring Rochester
Known for its heritage of industry and invention, there are several sites to see once guests have settled into their Rochester hotels. Artisan Works is full of a wide variety of different kinds of art, while the George Eastman House contains a museum dedicated to photography, film, and the founder of Eastman Kodak.
Full of historical significance, Rochester cheap hotels in the downtown area provide close proximity to the Susan B. Anthony House, the Frederick Douglass Resource Center, and the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum and New York Museum of Transportation. There are opportunities for fine dining and upscale shopping in the city center as well.
