Beach Hotels in Kahului
Home of the main airport for the island of Maui, Kahului is an excellent starting-off point for your Hawaii vacation. While there aren't many Kahului hotels to choose from, many of the ones in the area are seaside, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific. In addition to their proximity to Kahului's beautiful beaches, Kahului hotels also are just a short drive from the Kahana Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary, West Maui Forest Reserve, and other Maui must-sees.
Located near the waterfront at the intersection of State Highways 32 and 340, Kahului hotels are generally less expensive than hotels in other areas of the island, but they offer the utmost in convenience for travelers who need easy airport access. They largely are budget or mid-range hotels, and there also are some hostels and small inns available. Because of the small number of Kahului hotels, it is a good idea to reserve rooms in advance.
Adventures on Maui
If you can tear yourself away from the superb views from your Kahului hotel room, a trip to Kahana Pond and its wildlife sanctuary or the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is an excellent way to spend the afternoon. For a longer adventure, trek to the West Maui Forest Reserve where hiking and backpacking trips are the stuff adventure is made of. Throughout the island, you'll find numerous beaches, lush rainforests, and even a dormant volcano which you can explore.
