From oceanfront balconies to cliff-top gardens, the amenities at Jeju hotels are almost as romantic as the island itself. A popular honeymoon destination, Jeju has plenty of luxury resorts and hotels to pamper newlyweds and other travelers, as well as a year-round mild climate that draws visitors from mainland China and Japan. If your vacation is during peak tourist season, or during Korean national holidays, be sure to book in advance, as these rooms can fill up quickly.
If you want to mingle with locals and get a true taste of Korean culture, try one of the island's guesthouses, scattered throughout the city as well as in neighboring towns and villages. From your hotel in Jeju, be sure to take a hike through Hallasan National Park, encompassing the country's highest peak, and up Dragon's Head Rock, where you can explore towering waterfalls and truly scenic natural beauty. Also pay a visit to the world's largest botanical garden at Bunjae Artpia, try your hand at spelunking in the Manjanggul lava-tube cave, and get up early to witness daybreak at Sunrise Peak.
An Island Paradise
No vacation to Jeju is complete without a nice long stretch on one of the island's white-sand beaches and a night of gaming at an exciting casino. Also, many cheap Jeju hotels are close to the city's bars and clubs—as well as historical sites and museums—in the Samseonghyeol neighborhood, so be sure to get out at least one night to enjoy the city's hopping nightlife.
