Finding Deals on Charleston Hotels
Founded in 1670, Charleston is one of the oldest cities in the U.S. It’s also one of the most romantic getaways you’ll find. Charleston hotels in the historic district are by far the most popular stays, putting you right in the heart of heritage.
North Charleston is where you can catch a cheap fight at the airport, and is where Charlestonians do most of their business and entertaining, thanks to several sports complexes and a performing arts center. You’ll find great deals on a Charleston hotel room here, too.
Charleston Haunts to See
Whether you’re north of Broad Street or south, you’ll find restored homes, museums, a busy nightlife, a few “spirited” places, majestic cathedrals, the most classic hotels in Charleston and historic inns, and the taste for which the Holy City’s best known: lowcountry cuisine.
The neighboring Mount Pleasant area is known for its fine dining and the place where the first shots of the Civil War were fired at Fort Sumter, while 20th century military history can be explored inside the Yorktown, a WWII aircraft carrier. Be sure to visit the antebellum mansion of Boone Hall, one of the oldest working plantations still remaining. Because it’s not in the most popular historic district, you’ll find many cheap Charleston hotels here as well.
