Discover Aruba Hotels
Although it’s just 18 miles from Venezuela, Aruba is a part of the Dutch Kingdom of the Netherlands. This juxtaposition creates an exciting combination that gives travelers Caribbean sunshine and beaches, Dutch culture, and South American music and cuisine. When you arrive on flights to Aruba, you can enjoy this entertaining melting pot of cultures in Aruba hotels that range from sprawling beachside resorts to simple bungalows.
Hotels in Aruba
There are three distinct areas where hotels in Aruba are located: Oranjestad, the Low-Rise Zone, and the High-Rise Zone. Even though each area has a distinct feel, they all are clustered on the protected southwestern side of the island. Oranjestad, the island’s capital, presents the colorful contrast of Dutch colonial-style architecture decorated in the pastel hues of the Caribbean. This area is home to many exuberant entertainment opportunities that include casinos, nightclubs, restaurants, and endless shopping.
The Low-Rise Zone is located a few minutes northwest of Oranjestad. Here, vacationers find boutique hotels, laid-back Aruba resorts, and wide, serene, white-sand beaches. The High-Rise Zone, a little further north, is the location of most of the large Aruba resorts that offer casinos, gyms, spas, manicured grounds, and elaborate pools. High-Rise’s busy Palm Beach hums with restaurants, bars, jet-skiers, and para-sailers.
No matter where you stay on Aruba vacations, you can always get away from the crowds by exploring the rocky coastline and arid terrain of the island’s northwest side.
