Exploring is fun, but sometimes the best vacations are those spent relaxing at an all-inclusive resort. Who doesn’t love kicking back under a palm tree and being served tropical drinks poolside? No one I know, that’s for sure. So, of course, I’m very excited to be spending next week in one of the best destinations in the world for R&R — the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana! This place is known for epic sunsets, fine white sand and deliciously warm waters that welcome beachgoers year-round. And with a variety of Blue Diamond Resorts to set the stage for my trip, you know it’s going to be incredible.

April 17
I’ll be checking in first to the CHIC Punta Cana, featuring adults only all-inclusive luxury. What could be more indulgent? Keeping in this mindset, I’ll start my stay by slowly sipping my welcome drink with a hot towel around my neck, strolling my way to the glass-walled Mermaid Pool for a leisurely dip. It’s elevated, so guests who choose to lounge poolside have the chance for awesome photo ops, and it’s my time to live out my dream as a merman. Even if only for a moment.

Next I’ll head to the private cabana I’ve booked for a little siesta … because being the center of attention can be quite tiring. And I’ve already booked a massage treatment at The Royal Spa, so don’t expect to hear from me for a bit unless you too are savoring a moment of bliss in their hydrotherapy pool. Ahhh, I can’t wait. Sounds like I’ll be working up quite an appetite! Lucky for me, CHIC has a Chef’s Table designed to cater to even the most discerning tastebuds, all in an open-concept kitchen that’s as exciting for the eyes as it is for the palate. I’m getting hungry just imagining it. You’d better believe I’ll save room under this belt for dessert!
April 18
Today I’ll wake in my Diamond Club™ room refreshed and ready to take on the day — how could I not with world-class amenities like butler service and a pillow menu at my beckon call? After enjoying a bite from my upgraded room service menu, I think I’ll marvel at the sunrise while enjoying the pristine beach CHIC Punta Cana calls its backyard. With drink in hand, obviously.

Once I’m in complete zen mode, it will be time to experience a new Blue Diamond Resort — and it’s Royalton Punta Cana Resort & Casino that’s on my must-visit list. This all-inclusive beach resort offers All-In Luxury™, and I like the sound of that! Since I’ve already spoiled myself silly in the Diamond Club™ at CHIC, I figured I might as well do the same at Royalton, right? And speaking of zen moments, I’ve heard the Teppanyaki experience at the resort’s Zen Restaurant is second to none. Finally, I think I’ll kick it up a notch at the casino. Still working on my poker face …
April 19
Ever wished you could just walk right off your patio into the pool? At Royalton Punta Cana, you can! It’s just one of the reasons I’m so excited to stay here. It’s such a fun concept, and perfect for those mornings when walking more than a few steps seems daunting. (Guilty!) After a relaxing swim, I plan to head over to Grazie Restaurant for a delicious lunch buffet of Italian comfort food with a killer ocean view.

By now it will be about time that I go take advantage of that ocean, don’t you think? The resort offers paddleboarding, and wouldn’t you know, it’s one of my favorite aquatic pastimes. I’ll probably welcome the exercise after my buffet, anyway! To conclude my evening, and stay at the Royalton, I’ll settle in for a night of entertainment on the plaza. That’s the beauty of an all-inclusive stay, my room is always just a few steps away from the fun!
April 20
Last day in Punta Cana, and one more chance to spend some time at a Blue Diamond Resort! This morning is all about Memories Splash Punta Cana, and mimosas for me. But this resort offers something for guests of all ages! I’ll probably spend some time at the Diamond Club™ pool before joining the ranks of people my own size at the Kids Club. To answer your question, yes I do reach the height requirements for their waterslides! This resort is known for its waterpark, and if I’m feeling brave you’ll catch me riding the big one. With my eyes closed tightly.

All this excitement is a lot for an old Gnome like myself to take, so for the remainder of the afternoon you’ll probably catch me at the main pool. I’ll be sunbathing, sipping a signature cocktail and preparing for my another grand adventure. Where to next?
