Very comfortable room and the hotel is in a perfect location to explore York. The fridge in the room was a perfect addition as it meant we could bring some drinks and snacks into the room and keep these chilled. The breakfast was lovely with lots of options for everyone. Also liked being able to help yourself to tea bags/coffee when needed

Very clean, nice room, excellent location. Nice breakfast included. Only negative was parking, although we did manage to get in a nearby car park, £18 per day. I thought the website said there was parking, but could have been mistaken. Overall didn’t spoil it though

The start to the stay fortunately did not set the tone!! When I had look on the map when choosing the hotel I saw there was parking adjacent to the hotel. This was far from reality!! The carpark site was under construction! I went into the reception and 2 paper were thrust at me. These were directions to a carpark in a city I didn’t know. One also had a 20% discount. No explanation as to how to use the voucher. Eventually we found the carpark. It was full we then had to go through a very convoluted system ( many streets were shut off, many diversions!) once found, we realised there was no way of using the voucher as it required pre booking! The man at the carpark then gave instructions of how to get to the hotel. Streets were blocked off and it was raining. My husband and I suffer from arthritis and found it very painful to walk what ended up being a traumatic route, dragging our cases and carrying bags. It took a full hour from being in reception to returning to reception for a journey, we were assured, would only take “10 minutes tops”. We arrived hot, bothered and very flustered!! Not the best way to begin a weekend away. The receptionists basically said this happened often. We said, had we been warned, or had we had the suggestion to leave the luggage it would have been much easier. Having said all that we did have a good stay but we feel forewarning would have been very helpful. Perhaps you could prevent further anxiety for future customers by doing so!

Once again we had a pleasant stay until our last night. We returned to our room in the afternoon to find it had not been serviced by house keeping. After reporting it to reception we were told that there would be clean towels in the room for when we returned in the evening. The next morning I had a shower and grabbed the hand towel to dry my face and was horrified after been scratched by something on the towel. On investigation I found 2 used plasters stuck to the towel. I took the towel to show reception and the lady apologised saying she would let the manager know. Nothing else was said!

Overall good. Perfect location. Comfy and clean. Breakfast lovely. Nice, modern feel. One front of house staff member quite miserable and impersonable but the rest of the staff were pleasant and friendly.

Quick check in, in the room with in 5 minutes. Room was spotless and comfy. Nice to have a sofa to sit on instead of the usual one chair and the other sat on the bed during down time. Breakfast had a great variety, two notes though. Coffee and my tastes was pants and if you want to try and get a waffle then get down a few hours early as you have no chance with the kids queuing up for an age. Maybe another waffle machine would help.
