Beaches, golf courses, Kytesurfing, sand yachting, horse riding, 15 mins from Hardelot, 30 mins from Le Touquet, 15 mins from the fortified towns of Boulogne sur mer and Montreuil sur mer (Les Misérables show in the old town). Nausicaa Aquarium in Boulogne with all its fish . Aqualud (water park) in Le Touquet Monts du Boulonnais valley of the Course Pleine campagne . A16 exit Neufchatel Hardelot 12kms, Isques 8kms. Wonderful stay

We had a great time staying at the gite in the lovely grounds of the chateau. The house is rustic but full of character and we really loved staying there. The grounds were very good for our young children, helped by the fabulous weather we were lucky to have. They enjoyed playing ball games and sitting in the deck chairs enoying their dinner. It was very peaceful. The hosts were also very kind and accommodating and very easy to reach. The beaches in the area are also fabulous. We had lots to do and could have stayed longer. You certainly need a car, but as long as you have that, you are sure to have a great break.

A Great Week in a Great Location

My wife, daughter and I had a most enjoyable week in this lovely, well equipped Gite set in beautiful surroundings. Our hosts, Isabelle and Eric were delightful and helpful in every way. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful, yet so close to the UK so often overlooked by those heading further west and south down the A16. This Gite is also conveniently located for Le Touquet, Boulogne, Montreuil and the Sept Vallees as well as only 40 minutes from Calais.

WONDERFUL FRANCE

We were apprehensive to visit France. Well, Mr and Mme De Seze have reconciled l'Entente Cordiale. Little surprise on arrival, absolutely charming. Beautiful old French castle. A place to keep secret!

A fabulous place to stay

The gite itself is totally charming and the grounds in which it is situated re superb. Isabel was so welcoming and helpful we felt at home straight away. We couldn't have found a better place from which to explore the Pas de Calais, it's very close to the port, so good for kids who don't want to drive for too long after arriving in France, but in such beautiful countriside you feel like you're a million miles away from it. Everyone agreed that we want to go back and stay there again one day.

Relaxing gĂźte in the countryside

We had a lovely week staying in Wierre-au-Bois. The house is well proportioned with large rooms a comprehensively equipped kitchen, all set within in the lovely surrounds of the Manor House. It is kid friendly with large lawns and very friendly dog “Fitch”, who the kids loved playing with. Isabelle was a lovely host, with helpful directions and was always on hand if we needed anything. Check-in was Simple and straight forward. The house is located in the countryside just outside Samer, which has two bakeries, a large Le Clerc and a market square with fresh fruit and vegetables. A very please stay.

A reminder of how life should be.. beautifully tranquil countryside yet not remote-fabulous retreat!

We took our two teenage kids away for two nights away to this fabulously French retreat and all thoroughly enjoyed. Isabelle made us very welcome and the cottage is very French with very good facilities and clean comfy beds. Already recommended to our friends and family, we’ll definitely be returning soon. We even had a magical moment of seeing beavers swimming in the stream in the grounds, something we’ll never forget ❀ Thank you again Isabelle xx

Autumn getaway

A beautiful and charming place to stay in an amazing setting. It was easy to get to with lots to see and do in the vicinity. The owners were friendly and helpful. It was ideal for this time of the year due to the large open fireplace and the central heating throughout. A place we would certainly return to in the future, and would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful location

We had a very enjoyable week in Wierre au Bois. The house has much charm and being situated in the substantial grounds of the Manoir, it was a peaceful place. We were made most welcome by our host, Isabelle. We loved the plage and dunes d’Écault which are about 25 minutes drive away. Boulogne is worth visiting, with a lovely walk on the ramparts and the stunning aquarium, Nausicaá. We also travelled to the Vimy and Ypres areas, each about 1.5 hrs drive away, to visit some 1st world war monuments, cemeteries and interesting visitor centres. This region of France is worth exploring and is very convenient for people travelling from the UK, being close to Calais.

Beautiful surrounding & cosy and fully equiped house

We celebrated our 40st friendship-anniversary in the cottage of Madame Isabelle de SĂšze and were welcomed with a homemade chocolate cake and flowers out of the castle-garden. The cottage was cosy, with a full equiped kitchen and plenty of wood to burn the fireplace in the evening. Large bedrooms, excellent WIFI. You can find also a lot of information about things to do in Nord-Pas de Calais in the cottage. It is a 15 minutes walk through the fields to Samer. On the lovely marketsquare you find a bakery and grocery. It is a place to remember and to return to !

Haus und Garten sind ĂŒberwĂ€ltigend. Wir sind mit vier Kindern angereist und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Es war genug Platz fĂŒr alle da, sodass jeder auf seine Kosten gekommen ist. Es ist sehr ruhig, wir haben wunderbar geschlafen. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet. Der Plage d'Ecault ist wunderschön und innerhalb von 20 Minuten erreichbar. Zum nĂ€chsten Supermarkt sind es 7 Minuten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Schönes Landhaus in Parkanlage

Sehr nettes Landhaus, viel Platz, bei jedem Wetter gut. KĂŒhl im Inneren, im Winter beheizbar und mit Kamin. Gute Zimmeraufteilung, viele Wasch- und WC-Gelegenheiten, mit Waschmaschine und SpĂŒlmaschine. Sehr nette Vermieter, gute Kommunikation und Beratung zu SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten etc. Gerne weiterzuempfehlen!

On attendait mieux

Nous Ă©tions six adultes lors de notre sĂ©jour. CĂŽtĂ© cadre, pour ce gĂźte il n’y a rien Ă  dire et c’est d’ailleurs ce point qui est mis en avant sur l’annonce. Quant Ă  la maison et son Ă©quipement, ce n’est pas la mĂȘme chose. De la moquette blanche au niveau du premier Ă©tage : peut-ĂȘtre pas la meilleure idĂ©e
 La chambre dans laquelle se trouvent les deux petits lits n’est pas pratique : ATTENTION, les lits mesurent environ 80x190, ce qui est un peu juste pour des adultes et cela n’est pas prĂ©cisĂ© dans le descriptif. Chambre pour enfants, donc, pas de table de nuit et une seule chaise pour deux. Dans la cuisine, la bouilloire ne fonctionne pas (et ce, bien avant que nous arrivions) et le rĂ©frigĂ©rateur n’est pas des plus optimum (il ne refroidissait pas). Il faut dire que sa contenance est trop juste pour six personnes (si bien que les aliments sont entassĂ©s) et qu’un bon dĂ©givrage verrait son efficacitĂ© augmentĂ©e. Petit dĂ©tail : une notice ou une affichette pour le fonctionnement du micro-ondes serait la bienvenue ; ainsi que du savon liquide dans la salle de bain. Quant Ă  la baignoire, pour Ă©viter d’arroser les alentours, peut-ĂȘtre qu’un pare-douche serait efficace ? Enfin, cĂŽtĂ© propretĂ©, ce n’était pas nickel. Nous le savons, la prĂ©sence d’araignĂ©es est signe d’une maison saine, mais pour une location, il serait bienvenu d’îter les toiles et de faire la poussiĂšre autour et derriĂšre les meubles. Dommage, car les photos et les commentaires sur le site ainsi que les messages Ă©changĂ©s avec la propriĂ©taire, hĂŽte premium, semblaient augurer d’une location sans reproches. Nous n’avons visiblement pas tous le mĂȘme degrĂ© d’exigence ni la mĂȘme expĂ©rience.
