Paradise at the Rivers Edge! A Private Waterfront Log Cabin, snow ski/fish nearby

Come relax at this luxurious cabin and let the river put you to sleep at night. Paradise Cabin is unlike any of the properties in this area. This perfect getaway sits on a 65 acre private estate located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. The setting makes you feel like you are in the back country yet you are minutes from everything this area has to offer. We are only 1 mile from I-40 Exit 24 and 25 miles to Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. You only need to make a mere 10 minute drive to enjoy all that Downtown Waynesville has to offer from fine dining to some of the areas best local breweries. The Blue Ridge Parkway cuts right through this area and you are just minutes away from several of its entrances.

After more than 20 years of tearing down old barns and log cabins and hoarding away the kinds of things you can't just run to the local building supply and buy this unique property started to take shape. From the hand hewn solid oak log walls to the tobacco stick handrails this is a getaway that will make you want to stay and not leave. All the woodwork and trim in the house is reclaimed mostly from barns that were built 100 plus years ago by the owners great grandfather and has been reused into what you will see in this one of a kind cabin. The flooring on the main level is reclaimed antique heart of pine flooring as well as the hand hewn weathered beams in the ceiling. Open up the reclaimed Chestnut barn doors into the bedroom and have the whole house to yourself or bring friends and enjoy everything that this area has to offer.

Fishing in this area is a big attraction so bring your fishing poles and get lost in the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. Walk down through the front yard and be fishing within minutes of your arrival, or maybe a nature walk would do you some good?

This cabin offers two bedrooms with queen size beds and pillow top mattresses, Also a couch pullout full size bed. Two bathrooms, one with tub shower unit and one custom tile shower with river stone accents harvested from the river below. The kitchen has most everything for most all of your cooking needs. Downstairs you have a recreation room with a pool table, a mini bar, native stone fireplace with gas logs and a TV. There are four TV's, one in each bedroom. One in the main living room and one in bar/rec room. Direct TV and internet is provided as well. With one bedroom and bath upstairs and one down it is the perfect vacation for two couples to have plenty of privacy. Oh, and don't forget the downstairs patio and upstairs porch where you will most likely spend your time relaxing to the sounds of the river coming around the bend. Watch closely for the huge cranes, hawks and the occasional bald eagles that patrol the river. With this house being on the rivers edge you will most likely see some type of wildlife during your stay, there are coyotes, turkeys, ground hogs, deer, bear, squirrels, etc. Don't be surprised to wake up to the cattle walking by just outside in the mornings. With the long range mountain view driveway and the waterfront cabin this is a truly one of a kind property.

This property is home to more than fifty head of cattle so no pets are allowed at any time during your stay here. Also no smoking in the house but it is perfectly fine to smoke outside on the porch or outside patio. Please put discarded cigarettes in the containers provided as this property is in a wooded area with lots of dry leaves.

With four unique private log homes available on the property now....Riverbend Cabin (listing number 7843149), Paradise Cabin (listing number 1148597), Cedar Cliff Cabin (listing number 2232038) and CastAway Cabin (listing number 3156188), please message us to list multiple cabins for your family getaway.

We hope that your visit to the mountains of Western North Carolina and stay in our cabin creates memories that will stay with you forever. Please respect the cabin and treat it as if it were your own as we respect you as a customer.

Check in was easy and secure. Kitchen was great, had everything we needed, Loved the farmhouse copper sink! Wi-Fi was just like home. So easy get to. Owners were so pleasant, easy to talk to, very attentive and eager to please and make our stay enjoyable. While they provided a nice restaurant guide they also provided ideas for restaurants they also enjoyed, which we did as well! Cabin was beautiful and well decorated and spotlessly clean. Everything was in excellent working order and simply beautiful. We caught some fish, saw Osprey, Blue Heron and on our last day, yes, a Bald Eagle. Rules were simple and easy to adhere to. Totally relaxing vacation, and we have reservations for next year, a real gem!

Fantastic getaway highly recommend

Hosts were amazing, even brought me a birthday gift. Property is quiet and gorgeous. We played in the river in the backyard every day. Yes, I said river in the backyard. Plenty of options to enjoy the outdoors without leaving the cabin. Multiple decks and grills to utilize the spaces for convenience and enjoyment. One of the best cabins and experiences my family has had renting in the mountains. I definitely recommend and will be returning in the future.

We got married at Max Patch and stayed here with our two kids for a week. The property is amazing with beautiful river views, tubing, fire pit, and grill. They even left us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding. We had a wonderful time and the hosts were always very responsive. We will definitely be returning to stay at Paradise!

Perfect Personal Zen Trip

Was exactly as I imagined and what I needed. Beauty in nature, peaceful, safe, solitude— yet easy to go for a cocktail/wine/chit chat with Locals in Waynesville and get cabin necessities. Asheville also not far drive if desired. Hosts are very attentive and kind- did not “need” anything as far as cabin details. Would easily recommend AND return. I miss their horse Rosie already !

Perfect relaxing retreat

We absolutely enjoyed this house. It was the perfect size and the location was amazing. We were close to areas of interest, highways, grocery, etc., but it also felt so secluded and was the ideal setting to connect with nature. The river and sunrise views were wonderful. Sitting on the porch, walking by the river, and playing pool were our favorite activities. We had everything we needed to enjoy the space. Would highly recommend this house and would definitely return if given the opportunity.

Paradise Indeed

We’ve stayed at countless vrbo’s and this one’s at the top of the list. We were lucky enough to stay here while the other two cabins on the riverfront were vacant which made it feel like we had it all to ourselves. However, it’s still far enough away and out of site to offer plenty of privacy. The owners didn’t cut any corners on the cabin itself. Their attention to all the details makes it feel even more special and after meeting them it was evident that they go above and beyond to make sure that each guest enjoys their stay. We look forward to coming back again to relax at this little slice of paradise.

Paradise indeed!

The stay at Jack and Christy's Paradise cabin was a wonderful experience. The location setting was just what we were looking for, perched above the whitewater sounds of a private stretch of river. And the cabin itself was simply stunning. To see the build process documented by the family photos with woodwork personally milled and placed by hand was special. The decor was seasonal, warm, and welcoming. We felt at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
