Smooth check in. Booked with Travelocity. The room was clean and smelled really nice, ac was cold. The pool was fun for my kids, they loved it went to 8ft. The downside was I did find a live roach in the room.

This is the second time we've stayed at Royal Inn. They are one of the very few motels that still has smoking rooms, which is a plus for us (tobacco only, btw). The room rate through Travelocity was *very* affordable. Our room was clean and smelled nice, and the air conditioner worked well to keep the Texas heat and humidity *outside*. We only stayed overnight this time, and check-in and check-out was a breeze. The attached restaurant, Taqueria Mazatlan, serves authentic Mexican food that's delicious and affordable. And the staff is friendly and provided excellent customer service. We will book a room at Royal Inn again when we visit Port Lavaca.

no place to sit in the breakfast area and very limited. Food in the breakfast area was old. Property was outdated. Towels were limited. Floors were still wet. we got it because it was the only one that was three star in the area, but it was not deserving of a three star.

Ordered a non smoking room and they gave a smoking room that smelled so badly it gave my husband a headache. He also tried to call the office to ask for WiFi no one answered, no shock there! First night he stayed there no issues, but second night is when they gave him the smoking room when my reservation clearly says “NON-SMOKING”
