First off, the apartment was very clean and had comfortable beds. It was also a quick walk to the beach and town of Clearwater. That being said, it is more like a motel room in a one story motel, with a bare minimum of furniture and very scant supply of kitchen basics. Also, it felt strictly like an investment on the owner's part, not anything he was attached to. With most other VRBOs we have stayed at, you can tell the owner stays there once in awhile or maybe used to call it home. Not enough pots, no can opener, etc. When I called the owner to ask if there was a can opener, he said that IF there was one, it would be in a certain spot. He didn't even know if there was supposed to be one. He did offer to drop one off the following morning, but that wouldn't have helped us then and there. We ended up borrowing one from a neighbor. Regarding the couch, it is very wide, so good for lying down with kids or sitting cross legged and playing cards, but it is not very comfortable for sitting and watching the television. There is also only one chair facing it where someone could sit and converse with you. Not for a group. The pool was heated and nice for a dip, but the lounge chairs were extremely hard and needed cushions. The office was very responsive. We needed WD40 on a bedroom door, and the maintenance guy came pretty quickly and was very nice.In summary, the place was clean, which is the most important, but it was just too expensive to be that bare-bones.
