Thought i had booked a hotel and ended up in a house 200 yards away . The room was small and the bed was supposed to be King Size hich turned out to be a small double . Cleanliness in bathroom wasnt the best . Noise from next door property . Wouldntt book again .

The overnight stay was a pleasure the staff were welcoming and helpful. The bar is well stocked and the cooked breakfast very tasty. The building looks a bit tired not surprising as it is originally an 18th century coaching inn but that didn’t spoil our stay.

Wouldn’t bother; I’m happy to take a rough setup, but this was a very low experience. We didn’t stay in the main property as we got directed to an alternative house down the street. It absolutely stank! of cigarette smoke - it was horrendously bad. The carpet, the linen, the furniture was clearly very worn and the water coming out of the tap was not very savoury, slightly brown at times. The shower looked very dated. The ceiling started leaking during the night! And then to top it off the hotel overcharged my card by £10, rather than simply resolve and refund this, they denied the booked price and I had to claim it through formal channels. The area is noisy, and the lack of parking is a pain. So overall, I’d give these people a wide berth.

I stayed in the hotel’s guest house and was advised it had been repainted which was the reason for the smell. Unfortunately as the weekend progressed I realised that the whole property smells of cigarette smoke and it got worse over the course of the day; the hotel provide a big fan which helped to try and circulate the air in my room but all of my stuff stinks of cigarette smoke and it was worse in my bathroom and cupboard which made me think it’s coming from the room nextdoor. The room itself is nice and clean and the staff are absolutely lovely - they were super helpful and kind it’s just such a shame that the property smells so strong of cigarettes. I would really recommend you don’t stay here it you have a respiratory problem or any sorts as it’s quite unbearable.

We stayed in the annex about 200 yards away. It was lovely and comfortable and quiet. The staff were all great, very friendly and helpful. There was a fried breakfast included. I'd have preferred grilled but it was tasty and sufficient. I'd stay here again.
