Our getaway in Jozenkei, Hokkaido was such a memorable escape. We stayed at the stunning Grand Blissen Onsen Hotel and everything was just perfect—from the serene onsen views to the warm hospitality. The dinner degustation to breakfast selection was amazing.
Stayed with my teenage son and my 75 yr old mom with the private onsen room as I have tattoos . It was the most luxurious experience ever ! So beautiful , from the entrance to the room to the dining experience . Spent two nights ! Massage was wonderful I did body scrub one night and relaxation second night . Walkable to near by shops . Across the street there is a small restaurant Francais it was sooooo good , stop by for lunch . Vintage seating maybe not ideal for tall folks .must try the dessert toast omg that was amazing . Walking distant to small park with public free foot onsen , a family mart and a souvenir shop plus nice picturesque opportunities , will definitely come again .we came in April 14-16 there was still snow cap mountains , one night of rain and second night was lovely . We saw a deer run past us in the park and it made the nature walk a tad more special ! Hotel has great souvenirs too ! They arranged taxi service to airport for 6,000 yen flat rate . It would have been well over 10,000 if we didn’t use hotel to arrange . In translation that’s $60 vs $100 for a 25 min ride .
This a beautiful hotel which seems brand new. The staff is wonderful and the meals are great. There isn’t much to do in Jozankei and there are very limited lunch options around (the hotel serves breakfast and dinner). We had a room with a private onsen which was great. Great views of a mountain right in front of the room. If you want to chill and relax you may love it. But don’t expect lots of activities. Loved eating sushi for breakfast. Very quiet and tranquil. We loved sitting in the library even though we couldn’t read the Japanese books.
We travel with our 5 years old daughter, message hotel 2 weeks head before we arrive to let them know we have a kid with us, ask for kids menu for dinner. However the hotel did not reply.
When we arrive the hotel, ask again for the kids menu. Mention we are happy to pay for extras fees if they charge for the dinner for kids. However, they only provide miso soup and rice only!!!!!! For our daughter. Which is not acceptable.
We make a complain, and they provide extra food. But they did not mark down we have a kid with us, in this case. The next morning. Our daughter have. Nothing to eat for breakfast again.
We are so disappointed with his.
Enjoyed the private bath in the room. Meals were excellent. Beautiful hotel. Easy access with the shuttle bus. Check in was a bit confusing. Told to have a seat but no one came to check us in. I had to go to the desk after everyone checked in.
impressive view of the futama valley from our room
the views.. the views.. lovely autumn mountain views from our wide hotel window and convenient to go to futami valley river and futami red suspension bridge by car - the autumn leaves everywhere are breathtaking. roast beef dinner at the hotel (included in rate) melts in your mouth. japanese style breakfast (also included in rate) is perfect to start the day. our in room onsen is so awesome and relaxing. would love to stay again
The room was large and nice view but not really any amenities. The food was mediocre. Things like using the same fish in 3 different courses of dinner. Not freshly making everything. Staff was friendly but not super service-oriented. Definitely not what you would expect for the price paid between our room rate and meals. Would not recommend.
I was almost hesitant to share my heavily experience.
It was just too good. Almost unreal. Maybe I got lucky but there were almost no people. I was pretty much by myself in onsen.
My first onsen time in Japan.
This place is absolutely amazing! The best 3 star hotel I have ever stayed. The room is gorgeous, the food is delicious and onsen super relaxing. I don’t even know how can I live without it now.
5 star experience! Definitely will be coming back here.
This is an amazing hotel with a beautiful onsen and fantastic food.
The service was wonderful, and I would like to thank the restaurant manager and Kevin for their help.
