Another great week at Winnisquam
We enjoyed our week at the lake, swimming, kayaking (we rented kayaks from Outdoor New England in Franklin, which will deliver for the week) and simply relaxing. We saw the resident bald eagles several times, as well as loons and kingfishers. A lovely time away from it all.

A great vacation spot
The camp is simple and clean and cozy. Nothing fancy but well maintained and comfortable. It’s on a quiet street. There is beautiful swimming off the dock, free of weeds and muck. We saw loons, a bald eagle and humming birds. The view of the lake is so pretty. It’s great to enjoy a cup of coffee and a good book out on the sunny deck. We had deliscious dinners around the spacious dining room table.
It’s a great place to relax and enjoy lake lake.

Wonderful lake house
We had a fabulous week at this lovely house on Lake Winnisquam. We love the old timey feel of the house, and the views can't be beat. We spent most of our time playing cards and games on the deck and swimming from the dock to the large rock that is near the white marker. Also, rented kayaks for the week and did quite a bit of kayaking...saw bald eagles, kingfishers, herons and loons. A wonderful relaxing time!

A lovely lakeside summer camp
This camp was just what we all needed. We loved the swimming, the water was clean and clear with a nice dock to sit on or dock a kayak or boat. The camp was plenty spacious and cozy for all six of us. We had many delicious dinners around the big dining table, cooked in the well equipped kitchen. After dinner we enjoyed the view on the deck as the sun set. Its located on a quiet dead end street close to stores and restaurants. The lake was busy with boat traffic in the middle of the day but we enjoyed watching all the action. We heard and saw loons, humming birds wrens and osprey. The nights were quiet and good for sleeping. This is not a fancy camp but one that makes you feel like you are slowing down and enjoying the simple, peaceful life.

Great swimming, busy lake
We had a wonderful time at this camp, enjoying beautiful weather for swimming and kayaking. The water is very clear and clean, and the bottom is pretty sandy/rocky. The lake is quite shallow near shore (maybe about 3 ft deep...shallow enough that we were not tempted to dive off of the dock) and for quite a ways out, which made it a good place for my nine-year-old to swim without any concern that he was over his head. After a while, it drops off to about 20 feet deep. There is a rock you can swim out to and stand on (it is just a little bit below the surface) near the buoy. This made a great destination for us – we swam out with inflatable tubes every day.
It is important to know that this lake hosts a lot of motorboat and skidoo traffic, so it is not as tranquil as some lakes. It tends to be quieter in the morning, or after dinner, so that's when we did most of our kayaking. If you kayak to the right, down the lake towards the marina in Belmont, you eventually come to a little river. This was the most undeveloped area on the lake we found, and kayaking up the river we saw a pair of kingfishers, as well as a solitary sandpiper and some phoebes. Out on the lake, we saw osprey, loons and a couple of times bald eagles soaring overhead.
The view was really lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. The freezer did have a habit of leaking water onto the floor -- not exactly sure why, as it seemed to work fine otherwise. There were neighbors close by on each side, but they were friendly.
Overall, a great vacation!

Great family camp
The property was a great family camp. The location was perfect. It was quiet and relaxing. Directly in the water. Good for swimming off the dock, the water was only about 4ft deep. Very easy check-in and checkout. I did have to do a little work and the wifi worked great.

Just what our family needed
We had such a wonderful stay! This property had everything that is needed for a true lake cottage/home. It’s not modern as others have stated but it’s what I’d expect a lake cottage to feel like, simple and relaxing. I actually appreciated the nostalgic feel when it seems so many older homes have been replaced by larger bee homes. The view out the windows and from the deck is gorgeous. We made some wonderful family memories boating (easy renting from nearby marina), playing games, swimming, etc. Will definitely like to return again!

Relaxing, Comfortable Vacation
William, the property owner greeted us upon our arrival. He was very gracious, accommodating and informative. He even checked in with us after a few days to see how we were! The home, directly on the water, was perfect for my husband's boat and he got in a lot of bass fishing! It was so relaxing and peaceful. Our friend brought his motorcycle for touring and he enjoyed riding during the day. It was well stocked with paper goods, condiments, dishes, utensils, etc., even though we brought most of our own, it was nice to know we had backup.
Washer/dryer was a plus, too! Beds were extremely comfortable. It's not a 5 star hotel, but a big ole really comfortable lake house! Just a suggestion, a larger TV and air conditioning would make it perfect! Who am I kidding? It was just wonderful! We're hoping to return next year! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home Bill! 😎

We have stayed in this cozy cottage right on Lake Winnisquam for 8 summers in a row. We absolutely love our stays there. Read the reviews and you'll know what you're getting
This is exactly what the previous reviews said it would be. Rustic and hot, but with a beautiful location. We had a great time here, but it's not luxurious. I highly recommend if you want a decently priced place right on the lake.

Relaxing getaway with gorgeous views
The rental process was easy. We paid for key delivery services so we could get right inside. The property manager gave us a welcome bag with info about things to do in the area. They also shared the list of general rules for rental and those specific to the property.
The actual cottage space was great for our purposes. Having a 2nd bathroom was a nice perk while traveling with teenagers as well as WiFi for their devices. The views from the cottage were beautiful! Plenty of sleeping spaces for the 6 of us. Luckily we had nice weather because we didn’t even need to turn on the small tv. Renters may want to bring a larger screen with them if you plan to watch movies as a family or big group.
The land around the property was limited for active kids- not really space for them to run around without getting into neighbors business. We spent most of our time on the dock or in the lake because we had great weather during our stay. The water is clean and shallow (you have to swim/walk out very far to get up to your shoulders deep). This would be a plus for younger families, but older kids can’t really dive or jump off the dock. My only other wish for the property would be a fire pit of some sort, but I understand the hazards the an owner may not want to risk. The multi level decks allowed us to enjoy the views peacefully. Caution for families with younger kids that one deck level does not have railings so you’ll have to watch out for adventurous little ones. We didn’t mind because we didn’t want rails in the way of the views.
Overall this place was a great space to spend the week.

Incredible views on Lake Winnisquam - yes, but
The views from the home are amazing. The decks (2), the dock and the beach are hard to beat! The location on the lake is perfect and the location to area conveniences is great. The home is very comfortable. For those reasons I could be persuaded to rent again but it would take a lot of persuasion and some changes. These are observations to be concerned with if renting this property. It is campy and that's OK but if looking for luxury it is not here. When taking a shower make sure nobody else uses water anywhere. There are no electrical outlets in either bathroom. The toilets are 1950's small, even for a normal sized adult. There are fans but no AC if you think you might need it. I've rented (not this property) for 10 plus years and have always done this with VRBO. For some reason when renting this property through VRBO it gets handled by Bayside Rentals in Meredith NH. The keys need to be picked up and dropped off at Bayside Rental. In my case I needed to drive 30 minutes PAST the property and 30 minutes back to the property on my arrival and 30 minutes further from home to drop the keys off. Obviously where you live is "key" in this situation. Every property I've rented in the lakes region has had a lock box with keys at the property. This property needs this. A minor but annoying inconvenience.
