This was the worst experience I’ve ever experienced on VRBO. We arrived and followed instructions go to the black lockbox to retrieve our key fab there was no key inside. We didn’t have a phone number to host so we messaged and waited . We then called Vrbo customer service. We waited and waited .We ended up driving off in search of somewhere to use the restroom or stay as it was midnight at that point. We recieved a call from host stating that the key fab was not access to the room but just for amenities so we drive all the way back thinking we can just go to the apt and use a code as we are pulling back in the hosts messages and asks us to try several other boxes and nothing in those either. They message us several different boxes and codes and nothing it is past midnight at this point .i call the host and I assume it’s the wife then says I can get into the room by using a back entrance I ask her where do I go to enter back entrance she says let me reach out to someone and then I’ll get back to you . At that point I was done I said please refund me my money I’m so tired I just want to find some place to sleep. She does apologize and state she will put in a refund request. Then 30 minutes after we are already checked into our hotel the host offers another property 20 min away. The host uses a third party company so VRBO could not do anything on the spot. I’ve messaged asking the host about the refund and they haven’t replied in 24 hrs to confirm it . :(
