I saw another reviewer say that they were patting themselves on the back for choosing this property, and that’s exactly how we feel! This apartment was fantastic for our long (8 weeks) stay in Rome. The location is perfect, in a nice residential neighborhood with every convenience, but also close to transit to take you to everything you will want to do. It’s near the Villa Doria Pamphili, which is in a huge beautiful park. It’s also a quick walk to the train station or bus stops so when you’re done sightseeing with the crowds you’ve got a lot of options to deliver you back to a quiet and welcoming apartment. The property is sparkling clean, modern and well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and the host was super responsive when we had questions. She went above and beyond to send us info on new exhibits that opened while we were there, and she has prepared a book with all the information you’ll need for your stay - restaurants, shops, bus lines, everything. There is a fruit\veg stand next door, a laundry service across the street, and a pharmacy and grocery store on the next block. Our favorites were the Enoteca Fiscaletti Daniele, which had a great selection of meats, cheeses, pasta and wine, and Otaleg gelato (don’t miss their pistachio shortbread!). Both were within two blocks of the apartment, and we visited them several times a week.We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Paola for the wonderful stay!

As hosts in the USA, communication is very important to us & Paola is the best! She was very quick to reply & answer our questions (we had many!). She also greeted us upon arrival at the property and gave us a tour of the property. She is a wonderful host and her property is beautiful. Elevator a plus! Great location within walking distance (4 min) to the train station for the next part of our journey to Florence. Buses were close by & I highly recommend using them. We purchased Roma passes in advance & found them unnecessary as you can swipe your credit card each time you use the bus with a per day maximum. A prior guest commented on having to take out trash & clean dishes upon leaving the property, but that is a fairly common request at VRBOs. Trash & recycle containers are literally right in front of the property on the street.) Leaving dishes the way you found them-clean, is a very quick and simple task. Overall, the property was quite large & well appointed. The second bedroom with 2 twin beds was quite small for 2 adults as we had to put our open luggage on the floor. Adding luggage racks would be a nice addition. The only real problem for us was the AC in the main living area was not working at all during our 5 night stay & there was no one available to fix it til the day before we left. It was only comfortable in the 2 bedrooms so we did sleep well. Even the bathrooms were quite warm. Again, that was our only issue. Great property overall and a fantastic host!

Paola was a fantastic host and very helpful and communicative. Excellent quiet property with a great produce stand right below and bakery grocery store very close. A little outside the action so requires transit to get to spots but we really enjoyed our stay.

Spacious, Stylish Stay in a Safe Roman Neighborhood

We had a great stay at this lovely VRBO! The apartment is incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and you can tell there’s true pride in ownership. It was very clean and comfortable—an ideal place to come back to after exploring the city. The location is great: close to grocery stores and just a short walk to a little local bar a couple of blocks away. The area felt very safe, even in the evenings. The walk to Vatican City is definitely doable, though after a full day exploring St. Peter’s in the warm weather, we opted to use scooters and bikes via the Dott app (also available through Lime/Uber). Be aware, though—it’s not for the faint of heart with Roman traffic and a lack of bike lanes! As with many city stays, there was some noise. During our visit, the neighbors hosted a children's birthday party that went late into the evening. Nothing unexpected for a lively city, but worth noting. The host does have quite a few house rules, including requirements to clean all dishes and take out separated garbage—even with a cleaning fee charged. As someone who’s worked in the hospitality industry for 30 years, I found that a bit excessive, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience.Do note: buses don’t always run on schedule, and taxis/Ubers are quite expensive (26 to get to the Colosseum). Plan accordingly! All things considered, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to travelers looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located home base in

Beautiful apartment and wonderful host

This beautiful apartment was only made better by the wonderful neighborhood. The hosts created a tour book for the neighborhood complete with pictures and walking instructions so we made it a point to try one each day. We have stayed in other VRBO apartments in Rome and this is the one we would return to again...thank you for the use of your beautiful home. The pictures although nice did not come close to seeing the apartment in person. Favorite parts in the apartment were the kitchen and balcony. We felt safe and pampered during our stay, couldn't have asked for more.

Apartment in Monteverde, Rome

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely and spacious apartment. The building is secure and well situated near the Quattro Venti train station and several bus lines. Getting around the city was very easy and the host left excellent directions for navigating the public transit. Within easy walking distance is a fruit and vegetable stand, a grocery, pharmacy, cafe and pizzeria and several restaurants. We ate well. The apartment itself has huge windows and two balconies and is filled with light. The rooms are large with high ceilings and the space is very comfortably furnished. Everything is there you might need for your stay, coffee make, toaster, washer, dishwasher, even a freezer! (Nice for some Gelato from Otaleg.) Check in and out was a snap with Easy Host. The owner was in regular contact before, during and after our stay. Thank you, Paola, for making our visit to your lovely home so stress free. I recommend this VRBO to couples, families or friends who want an elegant stay in a quiet part of the Eternal City. Most pleasant!

The Perfect Place to Stay

My friend and I are still congratulating ourselves for having chosen Il Soffio as our home for our visit to Rome. The apartment is beautiful, very spacious, clean, and the perfect base for easily getting to all the must-see sites in Rome. The apartment is large enough for 4 people to stay without crowding each other or sacrificing privacy. It was wonderful to come back to this quiet haven after a day of being surrounded by hordes of tourists. The neighborhood is full of excellent places to eat and convenient to taxis and buses, making it easy to get around. You could not ask for a better hostess than Paola. She met us at the outside gate and explained in detail how to use all the appliances and also told us the best spots in the area for meals and grocery shopping. We enjoyed several light meals of pizza from Alice's, sitting on the lovely balcony surrounded by trees. How wonderful to discover the best gelato in Rome and fabulous pastries just up the hill at Dolci Desidere. Lunches at Il Mulino de Quattro Vento were superb as well. We travel a great deal and agree that this may be the best rental apartment we have had. Paola does everything possible to make certain that her guests have a great stay. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful, comfortable stay in a true Roman neighborhood.

I met the property manager who showed me through the large apartment giving me tips and instructions. Paolas place is as advertised, fantastic instruction for every need. Beautiful flat, lovely area, very pleasant owner

This is a beautiful, clean and very well maintained flat in a lovely area. The flat is very spacious and bright and it has obviously been done up recently to a very high standard. The air conditioning was very effective, and although we tend not to use it a lot normally we had to at various points during our stay as it was very hot in Rome. The owner, Paula, is very pleasant and helpful and her advice was much appreciated. There are supermarkets, a fruit shop and any other shops in very close walking distance to the flat. The flat is slightly out of the historic centre but is very well served with buses and a train station all in close proximity to the flat. Trastevere is only about a 15 minute walk and St Peters a lovely half hour walk along the Gianicolo with lovely views over Rome (and a pleasant breeze). We stayed for 2 weeks and felt immediately at home. We bought monthly travel cards for 35 euros that allowed us to use all public transport within Rome which we found very useful. (The monthly ticket covers a calendar month so if buying on 23 June for example you would only get 1 week of use out of it). The flat has a lovely big kitchen that is fully equipped and 2 terraces that you can sit outside on. There is a lift as the flat is on the 4th floor. I would recommend this flat to anyone really - it is of a very high standard.

Amazing place

My family and I stayed here for 9 days and absolutely loved the place. Our older daughter is studying abroad and we came to visit her. It was close to her apartment and close to public transportation to get wherever you want to go. Paola was absolutely amazing. She met us when we got there and took the time to show us through the apartment. She checked in on us and whenever I had a question, she got back to me right away. It was such a pleasure to rent from her. Thank you for making our stay such a memorable one.

Amazing apartment in great neighborhood

My family and I just left Paola's beautiful apartment. We couldn't have been more comfortable. I have been in Rome over a dozen times and stayed all over the city, in many different hotels and one other apartment. We've never been in such a lovely place! The neighborhood was new to us but it didn't take long for us to figure out everything great about it. The property itself was extremely well cared for and lovely. More importantly, it wasn't just the "whitewashed" generic apartments one frequently rents. It was comfortable, very clean, well decorated and homey. The bathrooms had everything we could have wanted. We actually could have come without toiletries because Paola provided everything! We didn't need to use any of those things but it was just another layer of her astonishing hospitality. The kitchen was beyond what I would expect from a vacation rental. Not only was it beautiful and very well appointed, she carried all the little things one hates to buy for a week long stay (salt, pepper, sugar, etc) as well as thoughtful things like olive oil and other spices. The bedrooms were comfortable. The views on the balconies and from the bedrooms were lovely. Outside the apartment, there was a store to the right of us and a fruit/vegetable store to the left of us. Up the stairs, there were restaurants and taxi stands, ATM machines. Now I get to the part where I talk about Paola. I have rented VRBO/Homeaway properties for years. I have never had an owner host us so warmly before. Ever. She drove 45 minutes from her seaside home to welcome us. She made reservations for transportation for us on 3 separate occasions. She answered all my texts and helped us negotiate dinners and trains. She was the ultimate hostess who made this trip to Rome effortless for me and my family. I recommend this property very very highly for people who are fine with being out of the center of Rome. But more importantly, I recommend Paola, who has other properties in Italy as well. I won't go to Rome again without contacting her first.
