This apartment was great for our first stay in Reykjavik before exploring the country. It was close to everything in downtown/101 Reykjavik like bars, restaurants, souvenir stores, grocery, and bus stops for tours/flybus. Note it’s on a busy tourist walking street so if you’re looking for absolute quiet, this might not be it. It’s also up some levels and is stairs only. The views were beautiful and you can even see the famous Hallgrimskirkja church from the kitchen!The apartment felt charmingly authentic and was clean. Beds were cozy, however, we did not use the sofa bed which was a little stiff but manageable if we were to need it as a bed.The host answered all our questions promptly. Overall, this is one of my favorites we stayed in Iceland! I would book this place again!

Great location. Parking instructions were very clear. Parking in zone 2 was close and easy. Shades for the midnight sun could have been a bit better but that didn’t bother us much.

Best possible location for restaurants, tour pickups, shopping. Two full flights of stairs for the apartment we had. Creaky, noisy wood floors up and below, but hey, it's an older building, charming , crawl home from dinner and drinks. And a great kitchen and shower. Would book it again and sleep through the heavy footsteps

This was my first time using vrbo. The property owner/manager was very kind in “hand-holding” me through the whole process and was quick to respond to my questions. Check-in process was easy. The property was centrally located close to Hallgrimakirka and Braud, and made walking Reykjavík so easy. Property was clean, well-equipped, nicely adorned. Close to bus stops, restaurants, shops, etc. If I was to go back to Iceland, I would certainly stay here again.

Comfortable apartment in great location

The apartment is comfortable and tidy. There was a coffee maker, but not enough pods, so we improvised. Location was great, parking was a little odd but easy enough to figure out.

toxic mold

This unit was a beautiful apartment, wonderfully sited. However, the bathroom is filled with toxic mold, the scent of which hits you upon entry into the unit. The cleaners returned to clean the bathroom; however, could not address the issue as the shower unit needs to be pulled out and replaced. The manager switched us to a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment two doors away and refuses to refund us for the price difference, despite published pricing during that same period on VRBO.

Great Location

Great location! This was located very close to everything. Easy walk to restaurants, cafes, Opera House, etc. Communication with the owner was always quick, even late when we had difficulty entering the door code to the unit which was fickel most of the time. But the owner was always available for a call to change the codes and to help me enter the unit.

Beautiful apartment! Perfect location!

Right in the center of everything the city has to offer, this spacious apartment is quiet and well-appointed. Check-in was simple and straightforward, and all around us there were restaurants and cafes to sample. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back soon.

A wonderful stay in Reykjavik

The hosts were great to communicate with. The apartment had large rooms, was very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was near great shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again! Thanks!

Great location!

Stayed for 3 nights on stopover coming home from Italy. Would have loved to stay longer. Only thing that could have made it better was an included parking space-but walked a few blocks to the garage! Would love to return!!!!

Perfect Appt in Perfect Location

This 2 bedroom appt was exactly what our family needed in a perfect location in downtown. The size of the appt is very comfortable with 2 separate bedrooms plus a living room, bathroom and kitchen. The communication from the property managers was fantastic and the check-in and check out process was very convenient with it all being contactless and using digital door codes. We’d definitely stay here again.

I had booked this apartment for the night before our arrival so our family would come from our early morning flight and rest without having to wait to check in that afternoon. Unfortunately the property managers gave us a code that didn’t open the apartment door. I had to pay for a room at a nearby hotel for my kids to sleep while I walked 30 minutes to a phone store to get a sim card so that I could call the property management team. The next day two other pairs of guests were waiting in the hallways unable to get into their apartments with the codes they were sent. Now the property managers are refusing to reimburse me for that first nights’ payment. Making a quick buck for a poor job and no service!! The people who answered the phones for questions were unfamiliar with the things in the apartment after that- unable to help us figure out how to work the stove top (hold down 2 buttons at once). The shower was a bit gross snd the back stairs to the laundry room was dark and creepy. I don’t expect things to be perfect, but refusing the refund the first night, not even responding to my first two requests! - ruined the experience of this apartment. Hotel Von down the street was much more hospitable when we needed a place to stay. I’d recommend that instead!

Great apartment in a great location.

The apartment was as pictured, clean, comfortable and well stocked. It is in the heart of city center with restaurants, bars, attractions and shopping within easy walking distance. We loved our stay here and are very happy with choose this apartment for our four nights in Reykjavík. Note this is a third-floor walkup which may not work for those with limited mobility. Also read up on parking in the city before arrival so that you are prepared. We had no issues parking once we understood how the parking system worked.

Perfect on Laugavegur

Reviews like this are embarrassingly easy—PERFECT! If pressed for more,... ABSOLUTELY perfect! What to say about a simply gorgeous, bright, airy, spacious apartment in the bustling pedestrian center of Reykjavik. It was perfectly and conveniently situated with immediate access to shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and bars. We did a lot of tours and it was so easy to walk to the designated pickup point (Bus Stop #6). We were about to park our car a few blocks away (in front of a fun public pool) at no cost (which was great!). Everything ran smoothly with our stay (two adults and two teens) and everything we needed was either in-the-ready or efficiently and clearly communicated. If you're looking for a charming, comfortable, homey, third floor home as a launch pad to Reykjavik and Iceland in general, you can do no better than Laugavegur. Again, it's easy to review,... PERFECT!
