Filthy Room

Carpark is a mess - safer to park on the road. Room was extremely filthy. There was mould all over the bathroom ceiling, women’s make up on the bathroom door, a piece of dirty string for a laundry line, shower curtain also filthy. The room also was extremely noisy, I could hear the women talking in the next room clearly. And finally when I went to check out, I got asked how my stay was and I said the room was not cleaned properly and I got told to have a nice day. They obviously are aware the state of their rooms, yet don’t really care about guests feedback. Only positive that it’s close to town. Recommendation to anyone looking to book here. Don’t.

Hotel needs improvements

The layout of our room, the location of the hotel and the quality of the food should make this a wonderful experience. However, our room was dirty, and the bathroom needs a major overhaul. In the restaurant the staff need to be trained better.

An ‘ok’ stay

Overall the stay was ok. Staff were good. Good location with easy walking access to the town center. But the property is rather old, and it showed in the condition of the room. There was no AC in our block. Had to make do with a little table fan. Thought it was rather expensive for what we got.

Dirty rooms. We had spider webs and very much alive/active spiders in every corner of the downstairs bedroom. The toilet flush buttons kept getting stuck. And the kitchen faucet upstairs was so wobbly, you had to hold it down with one hand and use the other hand to turn it on. Parking is also very, very limited and very hard to get in/out of. No assigned parking so its a free for all. I liked it's proximity to center of town, and my kids loved that the twin beds were on the second floor, but that was about it.

The hotel entrance road is really very narrow. Rooms are big with high sealing. Room condition is really good. Rooms are Quite from inside. The parking is distributed. Some people do park very close to your room door entrance for some location of the hotel rooms. Literally the car parking is so close to room doors (less then 1 feet space). Otherwise location us really good.market is walkable.

Too scared to plug in bedside lamp because it was dangerous. Broken wiring was strapped up with surgical tape and switch was illegally added with wiring spliced. No air conditioning, just a very old and dirty plug in fan. Unable to watch the very small TV because it switched off after seconds. Staff didn't seem surprised or concerned when we complained.

Loved our stay here. Staff and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was lovely and we could easily walk to downtown Queenstown. The steep hill walk home would get the occasional whine from the family but the bedroom views made up for it when you got back.

Great hotel. Lake views. Walk to city center

Wonderful location. Loved the A frame rooms and the amazing lake view! Staff were professional and nice. We wish the hot tub did not cost extra to use. The hotel got a bit warm and the door could be propped open but would bang around in the wind, so coyld be better stabilized.
