The staff at the Bahia Principe Grand were amazing, very attentive people. What I didn’t like was the room refrigerator, it was supposed to be a mini bar, but it wasn’t good at all. Inside the fridge were two Pepsis, two beers, and one bottle of water. The room didn’t have hot water all week. The room’s ac wasn’t working properly, but the fixed it within a couple of hours. The drinks at the bars were local lowest of the lowest, definitely bottom shelf. I would recommend to those that are looking to go there to book their reservations to the restaurants before they get there. Unfortunately I didn’t do it and all reservations were booked. I was lucky enough to have a cancellation and I got in. The beer they offered was only tap beer and it was horrible. I wished they would have had bottled beer. I will not return to this resort

The resort is average at best and is a disappointing experience after all the positive reviews seen on Expedia. Here is a breakdown of the various parts: 1) The reception desk is very good amd they are helpful if you ask them. I was able to get my room earlier then check in time and was able to get a late checkout, even though it costs $10 per hour. As for the bellmen, they don't help unless you find them and tip them. 2) The room is clear but it is smaller than I'm used to for all inclusive resorts and the furniture is dated. The TV barerely worked and had no channel guide so you had to go through every channel to find something to watch (most programming is in Spanish). The furniture int he seating area is the same furniture they use outside and minibar only had soda and beer (expedia promised as a vip that you get a bottle of liquor per stay but it never happened). The iron in the room barely worked and had to be replaced and there were not enough outlets (only two for the room) to plug in electronics. The coffee maker in the room kept leaking. 5) The food in the buffet was terrible with no selection and bad quality; the restaurants were better but not by much and only 3 restaurants allowed for the week with reservations. It is scary when people in Dominican Republic cannot make chicken or even a pancake. Also, service was terrible in the buffet; you never see the waiter to get your drinks after the first time they come over 6) Spa doesn't honor Expedia discount.

The report itself is beautiful. Everything was spotless and there was always cleaning around the resort. The wait staff and activity staff were wonderful, but the guest services reps were completely unhelpful. This is not “all inclusive” when it comes to dining. We could only get one dinner reservation and were limited to two non-buffet dinners for six days. Expedia included no such limitations in the reservation, but the hotel was completely unhelpful in this regard.

The staff was nice and i had to call for customer service a couple of times 1. my sliding door was broke and i was on ground level. 2. They had to come and fix the hot water. 3. Air conditioner froze up and they had to defrost it and the was water all over. 4. It rained and the water came in from outside into the bathroom from underneath the main door. 5. I found two roaches in the room a huge on crawling on my husband’s sneaker and a baby roach in the bathroom 6. There was a black worm in the shower under the rail cover .i couldn’t wait to check out and.7. the food was horrible the worst i’ve had in a resort never again will i stay there $1600 was not worth a dime i had very bad experience at this resort. I felt so bad for my son he was over it and just wanted to go home

Staff at the pool bar were very rude unless you spoke their language. Pool closed at 6:00 pm everyday. They start blowing a whistle kicking everyone out. Food in the main restaurant was bland and many items were cold. Also, there was never anything different. All the same food choices every single day. We were only allowed to eat in one of the other restaurants 2 days out of our 6 day stay. And we could not eat at the ones we wanted because we were told they booked yet we always saw many open tables . The area outside the resort seemed very dumpy. We won’t go back here and would not recommend it.

You get what you pay for. Things to beware of 1. God forbid you misplace or someone takes your beach towel. They have you fill out a report like someone wants to steal the old dirty towel 2. You only get 3 restaurant reservations per stay. Others must be buffet 3. There’s only 3 a la carte restaurants 4. The property is dated. You get septic smell in a lot of sections of the resort and often in the room at night!!! 5. The worst part is the beach. While the beach itself is very nice do not expect to see that emerald colored Caribbean Sea water. The bay where the resort is located has a mountain river inlet so after rain (which is often) there’s a lot of mud/clay and wood debris that gets into the bay and the sea looks like clay colored lake. A lot of people had stains on white bathing suits 6. Water sports like sailing catamarans require reservation and you can only do one day in advance. Reservations start at 9:30 and the last one is 3:30. Basically 7 reservations a day. 7 lucky guests get to sail - that’s it. 7. Best included liquor is Stoli, Red Label, Brugal. 8. A lot of locals get in with a day pass. People were carried out wasted and acted disturbing and disgusting. Other than that the resort is clean. Buffet food is fair. Rooms get enough bottled water for drinking and teeth brushing as tap cannot be safely used. It’s one of the cheaper options in the area so you get what you pay for. Our party of 10 cannot recommend this resort and it was our first Bahia

Property is absolutely gorgeous. Staff is very polite (not terribly warm) and courteous and there is alot of them so there is always someone to help. The buffet has a TON of options, all absolutely delicious (especially the coffee)! however, they open "later" for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast doesn't start until 7 and lunch doesn't start until 1:00 although there is a beach "cafe" with plenty of options. What is odd is that the pool closes at 6:00 and we didn't know this until we got there. What resort centered around a pool closes at 6:00??! It's also important to note that this resort is in the middle of nowhere so to enjoy most activities that come out of punta cana (i.e. snorkeling etc...) you will need to rent your own car. Bathrooms do not have any little "amenities" like bottles of lotion etc...and the rooms could use some upgrading. Our bathroom ceiling leaked the whole time and the ceiling was a bit ragged. The rooms were spacious and lovely, but could use some TLC. Lastly, my husband had an issue with the alcohol in that there wasn't any bourbon (first world problems). We were labeld as a VIP access reservation and we didn't receive anything VIP at all? It was a beautiful property!
