Meets and exceeds any and all expectations!

The Happy Place is hands down the best house we have ever stayed at. This hidden gem blew our expectations out of the water. From the perfect location tucked back alongside the creek, the beautiful finishings that make the house look like it came out of a Joanna Gaines home, and the wonderful hospitality of Bob and kattie! The creek was beautiful and provided so much fun and entertainment for our kids. It was so quiet and peaceful and honestly an area that I cannot wait to go back! The house was perfect for kids, dogs and adults! Definitely a must stay when visiting the payson area, and we are already looking at the calendar planning our next trip there! Thank you both for the amazing place to call home for a few days!!

Repeat Guests for Many Reasons

My wife and I first stayed at Happy Place in October for a family wedding. Back then it was my wife and I, along with my mother in law and our dogs. We absolutely loved the house, the two living rooms were convenient and the property was gorgeous. My wife and I promised to return as a couple with our dogs and Valentines was the best time. The owner Bob remembered us from the first trip and we both knew the instructions. This second trip was even better. Just relaxing and taking in the cool wooded air. Neighbors are great, walking trials are amazing and we were only a 10 min drive from shopping plazas in case we needed something. We loved every minute and we may return again down the line, that's how great it is out there.

A Wonderful Getaway

This is our second time at the "Happy Place" and once again we had a wonderful time. A very comfortable place with so much to do & see plus a short drive from the Valley. Your kids and dogs well love the running creek on the property. The trees and scenery around the creek will make you feel like you're in a different world. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'll need. Finally, the hosts went above and beyond with great restaurant & hiking recommendations.

Truly A Happy Place

The name of this house is for a reason because it truly is a Happy Place. It was a very large comfortable peaceful house. My wife, mother in law, and sister in law were there for a family wedding near by. We took our dogs and they loved the open front yard. The view was amazing and the neighbors around the house were sweethearts. The host was communicate and always available when we had questions. Check in was easy and the check out even easier compared to other houses we rented in the past. This home is highly recommended for families looking for a calm peace getaway.

Great!

The hosts have certainly provided everything one could possibly expect! House was immaculate and beds were comfortable. The only downside was the rough road getting to it which they don’t control. There were games to play indoors and out and a great covered porch in back. Would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful Retreat

We stayed here to escape the heat in Phoenix and spend some quality time together as a family. We hiked in the nearby national forest, went down to the creek and relaxed enjoying the sounds of the stream, grilled Tri-tip and chicken, and played board games. We enjoyed the cool mountain breeze every night as we ate dinner on the large back porch. They thought of everything to make our stay extra special including a welcome bag with goodies, microwave popcorn, cookies, and treats for our dog. Our dog enjoyed running free in the front yard which is completely fenced in so we didn’t have to worry about him running off. I worked one day and the Wi-Fi was very good allowing me to access large files at work while on Zoom calls with my coworkers and while each of my 2 daughters watched different shows from their bedrooms on Disney +. The beds were comfortable and the bath/showers seemed brand new. It truly is a Happy Place we would love to return to!

Truly a Happy Place!

This property is a gem! The house is wonderful with a cute creek running behind it. The kids enjoyed playing by the creek and hiking in the woods down the road. There are plenty of games and things to do to enjoy some good “family time”. Thank you Bob and Katie for a great weekend!

Ranch setting getaway

The Happy Place was great! It was exactly how it is pictured and described in the listing. It had a large fenced in front yard for our three dogs and they loved it. The home and furniture is warm, updated, and very comfortable. It had all the kitchen utensils need to prepare meals at the house. Nice big TVs in every room! And WiFi throughout. We would stay here again!!

Top-notch Property! Clean, Updated, Thoughtful Details

This is a beautifully updated property, tastefully done with modern farmhouse décor. It was very clean & well-organized (all of the kitchen drawers have labels). The outdoor spaces are wonderful, and one of the main reasons that we chose this home. Bob, the owner, is very responsive and gave us some great recommendations on his favorite hikes and restaurants. This property is along a private road with some neighbors that have horses. Highly recommend staying at The Happy Place!

Great location and extremely dog friendly!

Beautiful house in the payson woods! If youre traveling with dogs this is the place for you. Very large fenced in area for the dogs and they even have a medium sized wooden kennel inside the house for your dog to sleep in! It was very clean and the accommodations were wonderful as well.

Wonderful getaway

I would highly recommend staying at The Happy Place! It is a very clean and comfortable house that has been beautifully decorated. It has a fully stocked and organized kitchen (all drawers and cabinets are labeled) which made our holiday meal prep very easy. The large fenced front yard and the nearby national forest also make this the perfect place for dog lovers to stay with their furry family members.

Amazing stay!

We were very pleased with our stay at The Happy Place. It lived up to its name! We were looking for quiet time in the mountains with our dogs, and got just that. The dogs had a blast running around the fenced in front yard, and we loved relaxing on the back patio. Also, this was a short drive to our favorite hiking spots in Christopher Creek/Forest Lakes area. We will stay again!

Don't delay - book this one!

What a fantastic surprise in Payson, AZ! The hosts have thought of everything to make this a top-notch stay. The decor was very nicely done and the welcome goodies were appreciated. Pictures do not do it justice! The house was very comfortable, clean, and convenient to shopping and restaurants and yet was in a very quiet, peaceful area. The fenced in front yard was perfect for our fur babies and the "poop station" with dog bags was appreciated. We did a short hike, played games, watched the sunset and enjoyed listening to nature. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! We will be back for sure.

A slice of heaven

Had a getaway ladies weekend here for rodeo weekend. The property, home and surrounding neighborhood was beautiful and peaceful. The home has been beautifully updated and all the touches the host provided was wonderful. He was easy to get a hold of with any questions and reached out to make sure we found the property and got in ok, even recommended good star gazing time. We all had a fantastic weekend and already plan to rebook!

Happy Valley

This a beautiful home, fully stocked with everything you might need, clean and peaceful. The location next to a creek makes for a relaxing setting complete with porch swing and outdoor living area. This was the perfect home for our family of adult and teen children.
