"Grand European style hotel in fabulous building! Excellent check in with a great clerk (male) and check out with Roberta. Other clerks man and woman...not warm, not friendly. Beautiful upgrade..large spacious ( #420) room. Clean, a bit bland, but comfortable. I'd recommend it for intrepid travelers who like old grand style. Ive traveled thought Europe and not stayed in a 4 or 5 star where so many people..waiters, busboys, bellman, housekeepers had not the the understanding of a few words of hospitality English… A cup, a creamer for the coffee, etc.… We travel extensively so it didn't bother us, but I suggest you download an English Italian dictionary. Hotel had a great location."

"We are so glad we choose this hotel for our visit to Palermo. The perfect location as it is literally right in the city center, within walking distance to everything. It is a beautiful, older, renovated building with wonderful architectural details and plesant surprises around every corner. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating, and were very helpful in arranging transportation and special requests. The rooms are well-sized, very clean, and the beds, linens and pillows of high quality. The air conditioner runs quiet, and the bathroom and shower are large and we'll appointed As if all of that weren't enough, the rooftop restaurant and bar provide fantastic views of the city. And lastly, the breakfast buffet was well above average and a solid value Very highly recommended"

"Breakfast was OUTSTANDING (especially loved the variety of fresh fruits, yoghurts and the juices- traditional Italian breakfasts can be very pastry-heavy!), and also the best air con of any of the places we stayed whilst in Sicily (no need to set the temperature as low as you think!). Lovely comfortable room and helpful staff. The location is quiet, and would be perfect if you are coming by car. Lovely little local shop 2 minutes away who can make you up sandwiches to take to the beach / on your days out (open mornings till about 2pm, and then evenings 5-8pm). For public transport users like ourselves, note that this town is quite spread out (large blocks), and in the July heat, that means it is quite far and quite uncomfortable to walk around much. Taxis don't seem that easily available (although the hotel helped arrange our taxi back to Palermo on departure- we'd arrived by bus but couldn't face the walk and two bus journey in the heat for return). It would be ideal if this hotel could offer rental bikes, as that would make a big difference to getting around Modello. Our bathroom was across the corridor, which was not a problem other than there was no slide lock on the inside of the door- the only way to close it was with the same room key. Not a big deal, but a slide lock on the inside would be an improvement. Overall, very charming place to stay, but location not so convenient without a car if you are coming in the hottest months."
