"The property is located about a 20-minute drive from the map point shown on the VRBO listing, which was farther than expected. The access road is a steep, unpaved, stone-laid path that requires a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with off-road tires to navigate safely. Speeds as low as 2 mph are needed to avoid rocks and potential damage. This wasn't disclosed in the listing. The slow driving required on this road made trips out for groceries, restaurants, or attractions very time-consuming and difficult. Inside the cabin, there was a strong mold smell throughout our stay. The river view mentioned isn't visible from the property. The on-site staff did not speak English, which made communication challenging. We received the exact address only on the day of arrival, despite having requested it earlier, which complicated our travel planning to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, when we decided not to stay and booked elsewhere, the host was unwilling to offer any refund or flexibility."

"Our family of six stayed here for three nights while we explored the national parks and beaches near Manuel Antonio. The home was very comfortable and quite large, with two bedrooms upstairs with sleeping for five and the primary bedroom downstairs. The pool was a welcome respite to cool off after after hiking. We had an SUV so we had no trouble getting to the place, but as others have mentioned it is pretty secluded and you need to drive along a dirt road and up some hills to get to the home. Brian was very helpful and responsive, and made sure that we had everything we needed. Overall we had a great time here."

"Would definitely stay here again. Great layout, great view and overall nice property. Just make sure you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Road to the house can’t be a little tricky."
